Fix my gun SKS Stock Recs

Had the good fortune of getting a decently priced SKS. Bad news, cheap ass folding TAPCO stock that wouldn't lock in place; accidentally managed to lock it in place by snapping off the stock...

What would your recommendations be for a decent stock for an ol' Romanian SKS? Looking for options beyond the timelessn wood since I've already got one in all its woody glory.

Cheers

tapco stocks dont fold. either you have an ATI or you snapped your non folding tapco stock

You're definitely right, googled it and it's an older ATI stock. Brand wasn't written on the plastic

If I ever get around to replacing the stock on mine it will be one of the lucky shot wood stocks. I like the better ergonomics of the pistol grip and how it keeps a wood finish without going for the full Bubba look.

Rick from lucky shot is a crook. Dont wast your money on him. Stocks are barley decent with garbage finish. Finish will have runs, rough orange peel texture and youll be lucky to get it in the right color and wood you ordered.

Hush - picatinny

It's worth noting they have severe QC issues with the Mini 14-style folding stock version (I know you said the pic version), and the owner is an ass dealing with people rightfully complaining that their stock disintegrated as soon as it's out of the box. I haven't heard any complaints about the M1913 version.

The owner or one of his minions was very childish on a thread here last week. Didn't take well to criticism concerning selling $50 worth of parts for 600 f'n dollars, the main component being a shaped 2x4.

I hope their success implodes them.

The price is definitely the biggest factor in this vs a FAB stock, especially given our lack of tacticool in recent years

Ppl say the ATI stocks arent good, but mines been perfect, i did some personal modding to it to fully bubba it with mags and an lpvo but its solid

Tapco are the best of the “cheaper” stocks but rare

Fab defense is solid but pricey

Not many options if you want one today

My fab is not solid at all, bad quality, slow customer service

Brutal,

I’ve heard only good things. Good to note to be wary of QC

Many people say FAB is great, but the screw mount on my handguard fell out as soon as I got it. It’s completely unusable. I’d recommend Archangel instead.

It’s even more weird that they put “fits type 65” on their box, I believe Chinese sks is type 56 but they even have a typo.

I’ve owned or shouldered most stocks out there. Choate is my all time favourite. You will have to remove the bayo though.
