Buy recommendations Buying a .22

Everybody on the internet is saying to get a .22 because it is easy and cheap to shoot. But honestly, what can you do with a .22? Plinking and very small animals. Am I looking at this the wrong way? My FSC instructor sayed to get a .243 because its relativity cheap to shoot and still powerful. And another friend told me to get a 25-06 but its ammo hella expensive. Please fell free to give me another point of view.

I think you are looking at it the wrong way. You are looking at it like you will only get one gun and it has to have utility and be cost efficient.

The .22 is the cheapest and most fired round in the world. Grab a cheap gun for a couple hundred bucks and a bucket of bullets, then go out and shoot till your hearts content.

Use it for practice, small game hunting, or just fun. At around 10 cents a shot and the actually surprising amount of utility it has, there is almost no reason to not own a .22
