Feets / Collection / My build XCR magazine SKS chassis progress

I made a few updates to my project. Forend connection interface is now much more discrete and will allow for many different handguard styles planed.

Material is now Polyphthalamide Carbon Fiber which can handle impact like a champ and up to $250 degrees Celsius temperature.

Magazine release is much more tactile with a better spring and the whole magazine release is now easy to replace in 20 seconds in an unlike scenario of failure.

How many mag dumps would it take to reach 250 degrees?

For the barrel itself around 100 rounds. That’s the barrel itself. Airgaped around 1 inch away is the forend which would be at ~90-120 degrees. The parts that are touching the feels themselves should not cross 150-230 degrees.

To make the forened itself reach 250 degrees , you would need 200+ rounds fired “aggressively”.
