Buy recommendations 22lr scope recommendations
Hey everyone,
I’m looking to mount a scope on my Savage B22G bolt-action .22 LR. It’ll be a dual-purpose rifle for plinking and small game hunting (grouse and rabbits). I’d prefer a scope with a 50-yard parallax or an adjustable parallax.
I’ve looked at the Athlon Neos scopes, but they seem a bit heavy. The Leupold VX-Freedom 2–7x33 is a little on the expensive side for me. I might consider a Vortex Crossfire HD as well.
I’m open to suggestions!

An adjustable objective/parallax is not the fancy feature optics companies make it out to be. Just add "AO" to your search terms when looking for a scope.
With Vortex you're paying for a warranty you will probably never use. So really this comes down to whether you'd rather pay less for the same product but have to baby it a bit, or are rough on your guns/scopes and need a warranty. As far as scopes go I'm personally in the former.
I mean it's a .22LR. I'd just look for airgun scopes and call it a day lol, they're usually AO for close range. By increasing cost you're really just getting better zero retention and maybe some nicer glass, and zero retention is not really relevant for a 22. Gone are the days of picking up some shitty $20 Tasco scope from Canadian Tire and praying that it works, even the dirt cheap optics can hold zero on a .22.
