Application / Regulation advice Firearm received without IWS or Transfer Ref number. Blessed? Cursed? Blursed? Asking for a friend.
Hypothetically speaking, if someone bought one of those janky ATI SKS back in March from a leading online retailer and they received their firearm promptly but never got any Licence Verification Notices or anything else in their IWS.
Would we consider this good luck? Bad luck? Inconsequential luck?
PS: let's not judge this person too harshly for choosing the ATI one since it's all that was available at the time, they just wanted to add one more SKS to their collection

Have you recently purchased something from them requiring license verification? if you have a license check within the valid period they may not re-do it.

i mean, you're in legal possession of a firearm, it's on the seller to verify you have a license no? They didn't verify and that's on them, and they're lucky you have a license.

The confirmation is valid for 90 days. Had you recently bought a firearm from the same shop?

How is the ATI (if you’ve even used it yet)? Any other brands you recommend? (assuming I won’t be able to find it, but could also maybe look for somebody selling one)
Looking to get one as my first gun. And same as you, ATI is basically the only one I see available besides some other garbage lol.

The Tapco and Archangel stocks are leagues better than the ATI. I got a surplus Chinese SKS and switched out the wood stock for a Tapco one and I really like it. They’re pretty hard to found but some show up on gunpost

Havent even taken it out of the box yet lmao
Its just sitting there on top of the pile. I have a TNA AR mag adapter with a TNA modded barreled action that I plan to drop in some time this summer.

I had this happen when I bought last year. I just asked the store to forward me thier copy for my own records.
I suspect the store forgot to verify and I did it as a friendly nudge to keep them out of trouble in the remote chance it ever came up. Rather than actually feel I had a legal obligation to do so since I was the buyer.

The recipient of the firearm has no liability and nothing to worry about as long as they have a valid PAL. It's the sellers responsibility to verify it.
It's likely the CFP didn't properly send the message out. The system is a piece of shit.
