Shooting Have you ever had a bear incident?

Post image

Honest question: have you ever had to fend off an aggressive bear in Canada? (hunting or otherwise) What happened, and what worked for your response?

Used to work up north in the bush and ran across black bears pretty regularly. Fortunately Grizzlies arent seen in that area and never ran across one. Never ran into a sow with cubs so most would see me and just go the other way. Had a younger one bluff charge me once but bear spray sent him on his way pretty quickly. Was fortunate over all those years to never run into an aggressive one. Knew of one woman on a seismic crew by Fort Mac that wasn't so lucky and was killed by a Black.
