Shooting Have you ever had a bear incident?
Honest question: have you ever had to fend off an aggressive bear in Canada? (hunting or otherwise) What happened, and what worked for your response?

I once had an encounter with a Grizzly while out hunting. We both happened to be walking in opposite directions along the same trail and found ourselves face to face at about 20 yards. We watched each other for what seemed like an eternity. And yes, I was afraid, even with a 300 Weatherby racked and ready to go if he came at me. Eventually, the bear decided, much to my relief, to turn off and wander into the woods.
