Shooting Have you ever had a bear incident?

Post image

Honest question: have you ever had to fend off an aggressive bear in Canada? (hunting or otherwise) What happened, and what worked for your response?

Definitely didn’t involve guns, but I do take a shotgun when I go out in to the mountains as a last resort after bear spray and bangers and whatnot. Also for zombies.

Was just doing a trail run one day and stopped to check my phone, when I looked up there was a black bear in front of me. So I just turned around and walked the other way.

Unfortunately there were a bunch of people on the other side of the bear down the trail and when they saw it some lady started screaming and shouting and freaking out. Which startled the bear and caused it to charge me.

It got pretty close to me but backed away when I yelled at it and started walking towards it again. Then I just scooted off the side of the trail and it walked by me. I was pretty pissed about it.

Some people are not emotionally equipped to be in the woods with wildlife.
