Have you ever had a bear incident?

Honest question: have you ever had to fend off an aggressive bear in Canada? (hunting or otherwise) What happened,​ and what worked for your response? ​​

I have black bears around my house and its basically a fat racoon. In fact im more worried about racoons and skunks than this bear and her cubs as she ditched them and ran across the road. But just have a bell and a hold of the dog as its more likely to make the bear attack than no dog. Also my dog went just full fur missle with a lock on and off the rail before i was clued in to the bear. That was scary. But her radio collar has a shock and buzz function so i didn't have to approach to get her back to me and away from the bear.
