Honest question: have you ever had to fend off an aggressive bear in Canada? (hunting or otherwise) What happened,​ and what worked for your response? ​​

I'm going to use this as an opportunity to plug my favorite book: Bear Attacks Their Causes and Avoidance by Stephen Herrero.

It's a good read, and really puts the speed of bear attacks into perspective.
