Shooting Have you ever had a bear incident?

Honest question: have you ever had to fend off an aggressive bear in Canada? (hunting or otherwise) What happened,​ and what worked for your response? ​​

Two separate occasions at a family cottage there have been bears basically 20’ from us - first one my dog chased it off (he was fine, bear wanted nothing to do with it and ran like hell), second time a family member had to pull out the bear spray. Did not have my PAL at the time so no firearms available, and thankfully not necessary
