I cannot physically break the nylon tm22 mag covers I make. 3d printing technology is moving quickly. Consumers can do some incredible things.

Even aluminum 3D printing is very very strong. Issue right now is its about the same cost as CNC. But for really weird and complex parts that would require custom tooling it's very useful. That's probably my favourite part of 3D printing, no need to bulk manufacture and no real need for DFM

SLM is the way to go and where the future is going. Ever see Czinger hypercar? Jay Leno did an episode on YouTube about it. It's probably the best one of the bunch. Here

How do you think 3d printing (traditional or aluminium) would work for making 597 magazines? i feel like the promags could be very easily outshone if someone wanted to take a crack at selling their own versions

Hmm 3D printing generally has pretty bad tolerances, may not be great for magazines where being a half off can mean a failure to feed
