Gun and gear reviews Canuck Operator Tacop elite reviews?
Before we start. Yeah. I know. Turkshit, turknelli, buy once cry once, etc etc. I get it isn't a go to war gun, it's a clone of a $3k gun that costs $1k. Ive heard mostly good stuff about the Canuck operator, but I imagine the Tacop is potentially a bit more refined given the original has been on the market for years.
I'm split between a 1301 and this, the fact of it being half the cost is the main appeal. Probably only going to get shot maybe a dozen times a year, likely less than 1000 shells yearly.
Anyone got one that can speak to it?

Well out of the dozen comments, 2 actually had some feedback I was looking for.
Bought the Canuck. I guess I'll post an update when I get a chance to put a few hundred shells through it. It's not going to be as nice as the 1301, but if I get enough use out of it, I'll sell it and justify upgrading.

I owned a Canuck Operator Elite (not the Tacop) for about a year and ran ~800 shells through it with zero issues. The downside with Turkish-made firearms is quality control. Some run perfectly like mine, but others have early failures and end up needing a few hundred dollars in Benelli M4 parts to fix.
In December I won a real Benelli M4 in a draw, and honestly, if you get a well-made clone, there isn’t a huge difference. The M4 has softer recoil and a smoother action, but for the amount of shooting you’re doing, I’d say go with the Canuck and spend the extra money on ammo.

I have an OG Operator and it has been flawless. I even use it for Skeet/Clays, just for shits and giggles, and have not had a single issue. Guess I'm one of the lucky ones?

I really dont see how this is even a question if you can truly afford a 1301

Simple, if I can spend 50% less on a gun that still has a decent level of reliability, I have 50% more money for ammo. Just because you can afford the top tier one, doesn't mean we all have a need for it. If I was blasting thousands of shells a year, I wouldnt even be asking the question.

It does not have a decent level of reliability. Fortunately the warranty is solid.
If you don't care if your gun sometimes goes click when it should go bang, then whatever, get the operator. But if you can save up 1k you can save up $1800, I'd go for the 1301, a Mossberg 940 or an A300 patrol over anything made in turkey

I'm picking up an elite tacop today. It comes down to limited use, cost and what I'm looking to get from it. I was choosing between Mossberg 590r or the Canuck. I want the smiles per shot the Canuck will no doubt provide and eventually I'll likely add the 590r as the one that will last forever.

Have you held that 1301!!!! I was sold the moment i held it…. Its so light… the grip and feel…mind you i still havent bought it but my focus is on that 1301 tactical mod 2 . When i saw the tacop with gold accent i became confused since it was based on looks… but the moment i held the 1301….. the tacop looks and feels alot heavier

Yeah, it's actually one of the things that is a double edged sword to me. Nice for packing/carrying but I imagine the recoil is much more. Tacop is essentially the M4-t pro.

The recoil is not even that bad on the 1301. Its very tame especially being a lighter gun.

I guess but when you look at reviews and they compare the recoil,it doesn’t seem much more … and its less then pumps .. you dont have a shop near you? Or 2 shops that have the 1301 and the m4? And i personally realised i didn’t like pistol grip type.so ergonomics you need to hold them

I was at a similar crossroads between the Panzer M4 Speed Pro and paying double for a Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol. I ended up with the Beretta because I know it's a quality firearm and will probably outlive me.

My original canuck operator has been flawless and I'm close to 1000 rounds old. My ex wouldn't leave it alone even though there were much higher end toys to play with, she wouldn't take her hands off of it.

Please let me know how it is when you get it! I like the looks, and I like Canuck reliability and warranty. I've had my Canuck pump action for years and it's been super reliable

Perfect!
These have the normal mobil 1 choke, so you can even throw on a 6 inch extension on it and take it skeet shooting with a 24.5 inch barrel now from the extension

I am also caught between a 1301 and the tac op. Maybe gold bolt maybe red or blue.

100% 1301
The only reason I would go tac op is if you can’t afford the 1301 or the cheaper A300 UP

I’ve owned both. I liked the canuck and had zero issues with it. Probably ran close to 1000 rounds through it. But the 1301 is a step above and i love it. I don’t notice a difference in recoil really. My brother runs my canuck now and its still doing fine. If you can try shooting both before you decide.
