Application / Regulation advice Question about the henry supreme

I know ARs are usually easily convertible from 5.56 to .300blk but would this be. I will probably buy a 5.56 because of ammo prices but it would be nice to be able to hunt deer with it too. I see 450$ .300blk barrels that would be a nice combo gun. Can someone confirm or disprove my theory please?

Hey man, I had the same dilemma. I strongly recommend getting a 5.56 lever (what I got) and getting a .308 bolty for hunting. The 300 aac conversion is tough and if you don’t know what you’re doing, don’t do it.

Well I hace many other rifles I can hunt with. Just thought it might be cool to get a .300blk to hunt deer woth it since we can't in my province. Did you get much infos on the conversion? Is it just the barrel that is hard to remove?

For sure it would be. It’s nice that it’s a shorter barrel as well which is why I see the appeal to hunt with 300. However, you will kick yourself due to ammo availability. And getting the 5.56 just to convert the barrel to 300 is a bit of a useless venture when you can just buy the gun in 300. The next thing that I’m going to say about it is, the 300 is cool as fuck when running as suppressor on it; us being in Canada makes it illegal to do so. My cousin who lives in NH got one. I had the opportunity to try it out when I went down over the holidays and running this gun with a suppressor is a dream. All I’m saying is, if you’re going to get it in 300blackout expect to pay a heck of a lot more for ammo, you cannot use a suppressor on it (which defeats the purpose in my opinion), and barrel conversion is a waste of time. However, great choice to hunt with due to barrel length. And in QC you are meeting the caliber requirements for every hunt from varmint to large game.

I still say, get the 5.56 cause this gun is an awesome paper shredder and varmint gun. For reference here’s the website I found with barrels for sale specifically for this rifle.

OP, don’t listen to this Switching the barrels is as easy as removing the barrel nut and barrel and throwing on the 300 blk barrel. If you have an afrernarket handguard like a Ranger point pewview just toss on a bcm kmr barrel nut and it’ll all look proper.
