This is going to be a really quick one, but in the original post I had made a month ago detailing the experience withdrawing from the ASFCP, many people had asked me to issue an update:
In particular, around the fact that during this withdrawal process, I was told, that within 10 days, I would be receiving a call from Public Safety Canada to discuss further, and I was given a reference number to be used when contacted.
I'm sure it's going to be a surprise to absolutely nobody, but it's now been a full 30 days later....and not a single person has reached out to me.
🤷♂️
If they can't even handle a commitment to a simple callback, I have no idea how they are going to handle literally any other part of this entire program.
Will update again if anything else happens, but given how this has gone down, I don't have any belief whatsoever that will be the case.

I think a lot of the world is starting to realize that their governments are paper tigers, which is absolutely a good thing. This program has been the eye-opener for me personally. I could have 1 of every gun on the prohib list and I wouldn't even be worried, they obviously can't do fuck all about it lol.

This is the biggest issue with overreaching as a government, you show your hand and how actually toothless you are. Moving forward many PAL will look at laws as suggestions. Thanks Justin and by extension Carney for showing us.

Exactly. The prohibited list had some teeth until the NS shooting when Trudeau speedran throwing a bunch of NR .22LR guns onto the prohib list. They added so much ridiculous and common shit that they'll never have the balls to come and take any of it. They completely played themselves.

Even if you haven't done anything wrong being put through a lawsuit would be a huge strain on most people.

What a testament to their ability to confiscate 2 million firearms. Given the absolute lackluster number of firearms registered for compensation they really should have the manpower to respond within their own time limits.
Yet another nail in the coffin for this shamble of a programme

To me, this is genuinely the most puzzling part of this.
There were literally zero expectations here; they could have just as easily said "we may potentially call you to discuss more", and that woulda been that.
But instead, they for some reason decide to put themselves in a position to make a completely unforced error that only highlights how poorly run this all is. It really doesn't compute to me.

There was a story in cbc where a guy inherited his dad’s AR. The father passed so the guy is an executor to the will. The AR is worth 1200 so why not for the money he thought.
They ended up ghosting him until the program shut down and now he doesn’t know what to do lmaooo
It’s run by people as intelligent as Gary and Provolone and a gopher on a typewriter.

I can assure you nobody in the CFP wants to touch this non sense with a 10 foot pole. Evidently whoever was unfortunate enough get assigned to be dealing with this is doing their bare minimum to not get fired (like most public servants) and couldn't care less about the outcome.

Bingo! Doing the absolute bare minimum, they also know they’re all getting laid off after this is done. Plus what motivation do you have when their boss is the one saying it’s just for votes. No one cares and they’re just collecting a paycheque.

There's nothing to call back for. The whole thing is now in a grey area due to the Supreme Court agreeing to hear the challenge to the OIC bans.
No one has to do shit until after the Supreme Court makes a final decision (and that can take years).

I hadn't considered doing so -- I would be inclined to if I was waiting on something specific from them, but it's not really the case here.
I figure the only real value would be to get to repeat the reason for withdrawing I had given on record to the agent during the withdrawl call.
As much as I'd take satisfaction in that, as far as I know that would basically be the only reason, so likely not super productive since they already have this information.

They still have at least 36 desks that your request form has to be mailed to before your callback agent sees it. (All of these desks are in the same building)
