I would totally buy one of these as a mess-around/wall hanger piece if the price was reasonable. Super neat

The cheapest ones are 18$ and the more expensive ones can be close to $80

They're banned because they qualify as replica guns. The only way I can see anyone smuggling them into Canada is by declaring them as a real SKS, but that's illegal and I don't wanna see people doing crazy stunts like this

If Poly gets its way, we'll be lucky to get ones that look like this; instead, the ones imported into Canada will have a big orange eyesore on the tip of the barrel.

China always rhymes with low/cheap quality

Their EVs and Oppo/Vivo smartphones beg to differ

Commie items serve commie purposes like....aiding in monitoring you and locking into a social credit score system. Or the mass murder of political opponents via mass surveillance. China is an absolute enemy to the West.

Anyway, even if you don't want one, plenty of Canadians do. Chery EVs and plug in hybrids have already been seen in Toronto on Ontario manufacturer plates and only more will be coming in.

EVs are crazy inconvenient and set the stage for mass surveillance, plenty of people understand that and avoid them (Mercedes and Toyota, for example, had massive sales losses after announcing EV engines, they had to roll back their decisions and stay in the hybrid lane). EVs...btw are a nightmare to service, depreciate liek crazy and there is no solution (ecologcal) out there to recycle hyper toxic lithium batteries.
With AI incoming fast + EV cars, the energy grid will simply not handle it, it's an unstructured buildout problem in Canada - but our gov is relatively corrupt and underfunded - they're pushing for EVs but the infrastructure play isn't there.

Iirc these aren’t like the early Honor guards that were converted for parade use. These are purpose built to never be fired, essentially toys.
