That is honestly such a cool range day experience. Also that bear either has some huge balls and a curious mind or is deaf to wander that close to an active gun range 🤣

Probably lives nearby and is used to the noise. Deer will wander onto live shooting ranges too

Same with turkeys and game birds.... They eat the clay targets

I had a pet bird. You are supposed to leave out a little dish of coarse sand / fine gravel for them to eat. It stirs around in their stomach and helps them digest things is my understanding. Have a feeling the clay is doing the same thing here.

Is this sarcasm? I promise you birds are not consuming Petroleum pitch and limestone

city-dwelling deer will literally wander into anything with the potential to kill them. they don’t give a shit.

Cows are like this too. I've been out zeroing my deer gun while proned out, roll over to see my neighbors cows have wandered over and are all but standing on me. "WHATCHA DOIN? TIME TO CHANGE FIELDS?" -the cow

I love how humans who 10,000 years ago would’ve massacred those deer for food now find them as annoyances and throw snowballs at them to get them to fuck off lmao.

At the one I go to the rabbits understand that the people wont shoot them so its the ultimate protection from predators. Coyotes and foxes stay away, so they just thrive out there. If the hills start moving you have to stop and get them out of the way though.

They’re all around. Above us is research forest, below is golf course and berry fields. They often disappear during the day but there’s been a mom and yearling around the last week and she is super calm. We were standing 50m from her yesterday and didn’t even give us more than a glance until someone sneezed.
