Fix my gun Difficult extraction on a Mosin Nagant. Solutions ?

Reluctantly bought a generic *run of mill* 91/30 for an embarrassing price. It has a frosty bore, but otherwise seemed to be in good - great condition with pronounced rifling.

I thoroughly cleaned the gun including the barrel and chamber.

The bolt cycles buttery smooth, chambers and extracts unfired rounds fluidly. But when fired, I gotta halfass slap the bolt up and partially back before the spent casing will properly extract.

To improve extraction, does this sound like something a good chamber polishing would solve ? Or is there some other quirky Mosin remedy I'm unaware of ?

I've shot many Mosins and a few of them are like this: Impossible to cycle the bolt from the shoulder, and I'll have to break the aim and slap the bolt up. Not a problem with an empty chamber as well.

I've accepted that it's a Mosin thing...

I can imagine your let your friend shoot them on range day, and they complained that why is the extraction is so finicky.

And your non chalant response is : "it's a Mosin thing"

Slap it! It survived 80 years and it'll outlive you. It's a gun, it'll be fine!
