They forgot to highlight the environmental concerns and CC Natahlie.

The LPC doesn’t give a shit about indigenous rights at yes, the Secretary of State for nature, how could we forgot to not include her to the public safety portfolio regarding firearms. Our tax dollars at work

u/HappyCan7250 Apr 22 '26

I do like that they used the term northerners instead of just "indigenous" or "Inuit". If a case can be made for Inuit owning these firearms, then a case can be made for ANYONE in the Arctic owning these firearms.

And if a case can be made for anyone in the Arctic owning them, then the case can be made for ALL of Canada. Yes, the Arctic has polar bears, which are more aggressive, but we still have grizzlies all across Canada, and moose, and wolves, cougars, black bears, etc. lots of large potentially dangerous animals.

BC has the highest population of grizzlies of anywhere in the world, and our COs are given AR10s to protect themselves, why should a typical hunter not be allowed to carry an AR-10? Theyre excellent hunting rifles.

People are banned from discharging firearms in urban cities

My closest city (in BC,) where I lived until moving back rural recently, bans the discharge of basically everything above a Nerf blaster; no Red Ryder BB gun in the back yard for your kids, no archery or airsoft or paintball etc.

It does however have an exemption: you may discharge a shotgun to control "pest animals;" this includes the raccoon rummaging through your trash bin. So while little Johnny can't play airsoft in the fenced back yard with his buddies, Dad can turn a trash panda into red mist with a 12g in the driveway.

Shit doesn't make sense.

u/Free-Tradition5459 Apr 23 '26

I’ll have you know a raccoon can take a shotgun blast like a champ. My pound for pound goat, if they came about a hundred pounds heavier I’d be scared of the woods.

Was it a small town and otherwise what people would consider “semi rural” encompassing some actual farmland?

Almost 15,000 people within city limits so close to 3× the threshold to be considered a "city" by BC standards and well above the threshold for Alberta.

u/stratocaster_blaster Apr 23 '26

It’s not just northerners or Inuit.. any Canadian is in bear country, whether black, brown/grizzly or polar bear… and yes, some will fuck you up worse than others, but any time any of us head into the bush we run the risk of bear attacks.. bear bangers and bear spray will only do so much, specially when coming across a starving/parental bear… I’ve had my own close call that the bear spray didn’t help, it took a 30-30 to keep me from being injured…. This whole program isn’t about protecting Canadians in any way whatsoever

u/Matty_bunns Apr 22 '26

Gary won’t read it.

31

u/rastamasta45 Apr 22 '26

I’m starting to think he doesn’t even know how to read 🐿️

9

u/goshathegreat Apr 22 '26

He’s never responded to any of my emails.

He is literally a stooge. He's going to take the fall for all of this if/when it implodes.

7

u/ryan9991 ALBERTA Apr 22 '26

its good to know he agrees with the rest of us though IE the recording. But a damn shame he is ramming it through Canadians throats.

99

u/rastamasta45 Apr 22 '26

The LPC doesn’t give a shit about indigenous rights 🤦🏽

61

u/dandyarcane Apr 22 '26

I think they care about the optics, otherwise I’d expect the SKS would have been banned awhile ago

47

u/Ov3rReadKn1ght0wl Apr 22 '26

This is the FN consensus in my community at least. The LPC wants to appear progressive for self righteous branding and urban vote purposes. Pretending to care about Indigenous issues is part of this strategy and that's all it really amounts to.

43

u/Barbarian_818 Apr 22 '26

Gary did say, in a press conference, that they will be forming a committee with an eye towards banning the SKS. He also said, in the same event, that they don't want gun owners just taking the compensation money and buying a different firearm.

The message is clear, those who actually make the decisions are trying to get rid of every semiautomatic firearm that isn't a smoothbore. It's also clear that what Nathalie and the core of urban Liberals are the only demographic they're willing to listen to.

10

u/dandyarcane Apr 22 '26 edited Apr 23 '26

I totally agree - the Liberals have made it clear they want to ban just about everything. Which is absolutely insane in a country with an utterly vast and untamed wilderness.

10

u/guestpassonly Apr 22 '26

that they don't want gun owners just taking the compensation money and buying a different firearm.

hard to do when there isnt even any money given/assured

8

u/Barbarian_818 Apr 22 '26

Yeah, there's a good chance that sort of thinking is behind the whole "compensation is not guaranteed" thing.

There's also the fact that someone in the NB pilot only got a fraction of the initial estimate he'd been given.

And I seem to recall seeing a press release or policy document that had wording to the effect that provinces that cooperate with the program will be given priority. I can't find it again, so I can't prove it. Take it with a grain of salt. But giving Quebecois full value and paying everyone from that province before anyone else, regardless of date of entry would be entirely in keeping with what we've seen so far.

The almost fanatical Anti-Gun minority clearly has the rest of the party by the balls. And they're lashing out to avenge all the pent up frustrations they have. Nathalie wants revenge, not justice. Not sane firearms policy, not sound fiscal policy. Just vengeance.

7

u/Barbarian_818 Apr 22 '26

Update: I found this

"Start dates for these processes will be staggered in different parts of the country to ensure that resources and supports for each area are in place."

Here is where I found it

And previous statements, including during the Parliamentary question session Gary appeared at, make it clear that all expenses come from one bucket.

How much do you want to bet Quebec's surrender day will be first, BC second? By the time they get to anyone else the money will be gone. And when people gripe, they will blithely shift the blame onto the provinces that resisted. "Due to opposition in some provinces, operating and administration costs were significantly higher than forecast".

At this point, defeating and overturning this entire vendetta isn't enough. It has to cost the Liberal Party of Canada in money and power. Right now they have a comfortable majority. They can acquire a majority in every important committee. I don't see any hope of getting them to back down before an election.

15

u/DougMacRay617 Apr 22 '26

They have a majority government they really don't care. Think of all the scandals JT pulled over the last 10 years, naive to believe this letter will have any kind of effect

2

u/nulstate77 Apr 24 '26

The SKS debate is not as simple as banning or not banning a firearm. It sits in a grey area. The rifle was introduced in the late 1940s, so it is not something that existed within Indigenous culture historically. At the same time, it has been used for decades and has become part of how some Indigenous hunters operate today. That creates a real tension. If the government bans it for most Canadians but allows Indigenous communities to keep using it, people will question fairness and consistency. If they ban it across the board, they risk ignoring how it has been adopted and relied on in modern hunting practices. That is why this issue keeps stalling. It is not really about the rifle alone. It is about where you draw the line between tradition, adaptation, and equal treatment under the law.

1

u/stratocaster_blaster Apr 23 '26

Exactly.. that’s why they all do the lan acknowledgements.. it’s so they can appear to care without actually ever doing a thing

-13

u/guestpassonly Apr 22 '26

neither do the cons

-4

u/BlackElmyr Apr 22 '26

Shhh, you can't say that both sides are cynical and self serving here, even if the truth is kind of obvious. There's a strong double meaning behind the term party fairhful.

-8

u/guestpassonly Apr 22 '26

The libs says they'll help then dont.

The cons will actively shit on FN

-2

u/BlackElmyr Apr 22 '26

Only if they expect the government to uphold treaty rights and obligations.

-3

u/guestpassonly Apr 22 '26

And then you have the Alberta cons who don't are trying to split from Canada, not taking into account like most of the territory is native treaty land (6 7 8 and some 10 and some 4)

0

u/BlackElmyr Apr 23 '26

See there you go again telling people inconvenient facts they don't want to hear because it disturbs their calm.

2

u/guestpassonly Apr 23 '26

Just doing my part to shit on the cons

-18

u/BlackElmyr Apr 22 '26

True. And the CPC does?

22

u/FedInformant Apr 22 '26

I can give you one example that shows conservatives do. Harper made it so that band leaders had to have audits done. To ensure money was actually being distributed within their communities, rather than being spent on personal luxury items. Band leaders opposed this (obviously) and called it racism. Trudeau removed it right away and FN communities continue to be corrupt. Band leaders are living like kings while the people live in run down homes.

-8

u/BlackElmyr Apr 22 '26

Thanks for that. I'm sure a search would reveal at least one policy put forward or actually implemented at some point in time by all three national parties that advocates for indigenous peoples.

Something Harper did once doesn't mean Poilievre is hell bent to ensure today's CPC has the same implied concern. It doesn't even mean Harper or the CPC of the time did. My point by making my initial comment is that none of the two major parties really cares about indigenous peoples. Hell it's hard to believe either of the big two really care for the larger non indigenous population other than saying what it takes to get their vote and maybe, maintain a relatively stable economy. Not to be insulting, but saying the LPC doesn't care about indigenous peoples and implying the CPC does, is at best weak logic.

5

u/FedInformant Apr 22 '26

Ya for sure, I agree with that.

I dont think any of them really care about anyone. I just grew up around bands, and have spent alot of my adult life working inside bands, with locals and ive always felt like auditing band members was such a no brainer. People living in actual poverty while the chief would be in a massive house with 20 ski-doos and constantly going on private trips with his closest family and friends.

4

u/_axeman_ Apr 22 '26

No one implied CPC does, you just busted out the ol' 'whatabout'

-3

u/BlackElmyr Apr 22 '26 edited Apr 22 '26

My initial comment asked, "And the CPC does?" All the CPC down voters apparently felt threatened by the question. Perhaps you do too?

And actually the initial post I commented on does imply that the CPC under Harper did care. The natural inference being the CPC unlike the LPC did then and does now care about indigenous peoples. Go back and reread it since you don't agree with me or apparently the original poster who doesn't raise your point of concern either.

So your claim of whataboutism is only me addressing the stated point of the original poster. Which apparently they've no issue with but you do. But maybe you know what they meant and were thinking better than they do?

Not sure what it is about people tied to political parties (that's all parties lest anyone think I'm singling them out) who can't handle obvious truths and reality. I can understand thinking your party is the better way, most people who attach themselves to one do. What I don't understand is some people's knee jerk reaction to defend and protect against every criticism of their party without question.

34

u/CattleNatural5964 Apr 22 '26

I thought the government wants to raise a 300k ‘militia’ and invest in northern sovereignty? I have a hunch that when they make it to the part of the plan where they have to buy assault style firearms for the people they just took them from, they’ll complain they don’t have any money.

43

u/InstanceClean4114 Apr 22 '26

What? The only people who bought that lie were out of touch boomers and abject morons on Reddit. It’s just one of the many pure bullshit LPC talking points they drag out before an election, only to completely memory hole afterward, while their voters either forget it ever happened or pretend it was just hyperbole.

Nobody is fighting off American hellfire missiles with a WW2 bolt action rifle, and the government knows it. Anyone with even a cursory understanding of modern military warfare knows that if the U.S. were ever to invade, it would look like Israel vs Palestine, not Ukraine vs. Russia.

19

u/thecoolernameistaken Apr 22 '26

Uhm ahkshually guerilla warfare Afghanistan Vietnam🤓

17

u/PotatoFondler Apr 22 '26

Afghanistan could not be tamed for millennia. Their people are very hardened.

I love the logic from the people who claim they will participate in guerrilla warfare when you can obviously tell they’ve never walked more than a few steps from their basement apartments.

6

u/airchinapilot Apr 22 '26

but but dRoNeZ

3

u/IGnuGnat Apr 22 '26

I mean, they were in Afghanistan for how long? Part of the goal was to kill the poppy business, and remove the Taliban from power. The Taliban are now in power and the poppy business is booming. Yes the terrain is more conducive to certain kinds of warfare, but also Canada is a fairly technologically advanced country. The US war on the goatherders in Afghanistan, a third world country, was a complete and abject failure. It's one thing to drop a bunch of bombs and destroy infrastructure but if your goal is to take control of a country, at some point you have to get out of your planes and enter the streets, and if your goal is to take control of a country and take its resources you kind of want it's infrastructure intact which means using planes to blow up infrastructure kind of defeats the purpose really

-8

u/NeruLight Apr 22 '26

Ahh yes the full throated advocacy for fealty I love it

7

u/InstanceClean4114 Apr 22 '26

If that’s the level of intellect you’re capable of bringing to this, based on me mocking an often repeated and fucking idiotic idea, then by all means. I’ll even switch my VPN to the States so you can accuse me of that too, if you want.

If you think Canadian civilians could, or even would, fight off an invasion by the American military-industrial complex, that doesn’t make you patriotic. It makes you idiotic. That's what I'm saying with my full throat.

So instead of dancing around it, say it plainly. Give your "full throated" defence of the idea. Type out, clearly, that you believe Canadians are going to form some guerrilla-style civilian militia and resist the entire US Military. Don’t be shy.

2

u/BlackElmyr Apr 22 '26

Apparently you've never heard of partisans, guerilla warfare, sabotage, terrorism...... Yes the idea of Canada defeating the entire US war machine head on is ridiculous. A better strategy would've been to develop and maintain a military structured to make it not worth their while. I mean to be honest they get most of the benefits of ownership without the cost of managing us already. It's just the latest dementia patient in the WH is, well a sick iidiot.

And yeah you're right, most Canadians wouldn't take up arms. It sounds like you certainly wouldn't. Everyone's got to live within their capabilities and desires. Sadly there's more than a few Canadians who salivate at the idea of licking US boots. I wish they all had a visible mark so we could identify them.

Anyways, history is full of supposedly hopeless lost causes that still pulled it out of the fire. Finland V Russia, Greeks V Persia, Upper & Lower Canada V US. Ukraine is still in the fight and bleeding Russia white. Who saw that one coming?

You're almost saying with your full throat that you'd happily welcome our US lords and masters. So close but you hedged a bit. If you consider the idea of defending Canada is pointless and not worth your while that's your business I guess. Thank God not everyone thinks like that. But to belittle the idea of others choosing to defend their country! And you got so little blow back here. Disappointing on two fronts.

But maybe you could do some of us a favour and be even more full throated by getting one of those clear identifiers I mentioned.

u/gamercast1337 Apr 24 '26

Why would I fight for canada? Whay part of the social contract has it ever given me? Newsflash im a fighting age male. There are a LOT of fighting age males who think the same way. Hell I cant imagine a lot of women wanting to fight either. We are in a renter mindset. This country isnt our country, we can handle whoever comes next. Its not going to affect us and our non existent house ownership.

So fuck you, we may have the "weapons" (all banned tho, did you forget?) But there is no fighting spirit. Why did the French fight the nazis? Did the afghans fight the Americans? Or Vietnamese fight the Americans? They didnt fight because they had weapons. They fought because they wanted to. Because their nation, their people, that they believed in, was at stake. That death may happen, but if it can secure the safety of their nation, communities and family, it would be worth it. That fighting even when all hope seemed loss was worth it because of what could be.

Now, do any youth (the fighting age remember)have that stuff? A nation worth believing in? A community worth protecting? A FUCKING family to fight for? No, no and NO! the youth have 0, zilch, NOTHING holding them to this nation. No roots, no anything! For a lot of us, our nation collapsing tomorrow would be seen as "damn, does this mean I still gotta clock in to my minimum wage job?" We are cynical and dont see a reason to fight for something that clearly hates us for existing.

I would be fighting for people who already have it all. The boomers, the rich, the politicians. The ones who make our lives worse. Why would I fight to protect them? We are a "post national state" afterall. Its not like we have anything worth in this country to begin with.

Youre some liberal who thinks hes going to be some hero on the front line but gets executed by an American drone obliterating your position. Thats if you even tried fighting anyway and didnt pussy out when your luxury belief actually got tested.

Maybe ill consider fighting if this nation gets its shit together, created an economy that actually wants you to succeed, a culture that values people, a chance to have a home, have a family, be happy with it. But as of right now none of that is not even something I, or most youth, have a chance to achieve.

0

u/BlackElmyr Apr 24 '26 edited Apr 24 '26

Wow, you seem triggered. No one asked you to fight in some hypothetical conflict. It's up to each person to decide for themselves. How society views you and your decision is possibly another matter. But it sounds like you don't care what others think so you're good. Right?

I mean someone might think your profanity laced accusation against me saying something I never did might indicate a level of felt shame. But I wouldn't, after all you're a big boy (forgive my assumption of gender).

As to you apparently feeling the country has given you nothing so you're giving nothing back. I don't know you. Maybe you're right. Maybe you started with less than most, got nothing and had no opportunities despite making repeated honest efforts. Maybe. That's one way to look at life.

There are other ways too. Sgt. Tommy Prince, of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI). He served during the Korean conflict. Most decorated Patrica. He was indigenous in the mid 20th century. He chose to fight, though no doubt he had it easy compared to you right?

As to me being a Liberal. Sure, if that makes you feel better to think that. I personally don't care. I don't belong to any Party though it sure sounds like you do. And I'm sure the country as a whole is rushing to get it's shit together to gain your no doubt crucial war altering skills and intestinal fortitude. I mean you can never have too many whiners when you're, stressed, hungry, tired and under threat.

2

u/gamercast1337 Apr 24 '26

When you heavily imply i go fight a war agaisnt someone whos never done me bad, die for people who HAVE done me bad, yes I will take it as a threat towards my life.

This nation has no interest in getting its shit together to build an actual cohesive culture, especially after it's spent the last who knows how many years purposely destroying it. Guess what, people feel like fighting for their nation when they actually feel connected to it. And guess who doesnt geel connected to their nation ? Gen Z and millennials, and hell probably a decent chunk of early Gen X.

And yes I dont give a damn calling you names anymore, the time for being a nice timid "sorry eh?" Canadian is over. Its gotten us to where we are now. Hurting people's feelings for calling them out on their shit is the only way we can even begin to think about fixing this sorry state of a "post-national" country.

1

u/NeruLight Apr 23 '26

People like that think everyone else is a coward because they are.

-7

u/NeruLight Apr 22 '26

Your “analysis” is just so profound

5

u/InstanceClean4114 Apr 22 '26

I never used that word, and I never did any “analysis.” I was calling out your slimy comment. You said me mocking boomers and Redditors larping as maple mujahideen somehow means I'm secretly supporting the U.S. Which means you apparently don’t think the idea itself is ridiculous?

So say it plainly. You’re not afraid to say it, are you? You’re not afraid to see how stupid it looks once it’s actually written out and someone challenges you on it, are you? Go on then. Say you that you’re going to stare down the fucking U.S. military with a rifle in your hand alongside a Canadian civy militia.

Otherwise we all have to assume you agree that it's dumb or that you were just showcasing some political tribalism. Elbows up.

-3

u/NeruLight Apr 22 '26

I don’t argue with obvious midwits lol

4

u/InstanceClean4114 Apr 22 '26

I suppose I might respond like that too if I got called on my BS and didn't have anything to respond with.

Elbows up bud. See you on the battlefield.

0

u/NeruLight Apr 22 '26

You’re so tilted

-11

u/BlackElmyr Apr 22 '26

You might be right. I guess the last federal election was fixed? Or do you just think the majority of Canadians are morons and our of touch Boomers?

13

u/FromDeepestFathom Apr 22 '26

If you consider a “moron” to be someone on the bottom half of the IQ scale, and a boomer to be anyone over, say, 50, then objectively yes there are more morons + boomers than not.

In reality though the majority of people on earth are absolutely morons, yes, regardless of how they vote.

-3

u/BlackElmyr Apr 22 '26

Well I guess as long as what gets defined as a moron is based solely on your views. That sounds fair and reasonable. Almost as reasonable as grouping whether peoples thoughts or opinions or approaches count strictly on their date of birth. As opposed to you know silly little arbitrary things like whether they're a human of legal age and clinically sound mind.

I wonder what other groups you think don't count.

3

u/FromDeepestFathom Apr 22 '26

Well firstly I was mostly making a joking observation that it technically could be construed as true. Kinda like how every politician ever construes many obviously false or silly ideas as true or good, in order to push their agenda or gain votes. Since we’re talking in a thread about banning firearms and instead forming a “militia” for national security… yeah I think both of those are absolutely ridiculous. For different reasons. Primarily the fact that the same party is trying to do both simultaneously. Disarm the general populace as well as form a milita and arm them? Where have I heard that before…

And to your implication, I don’t think any groups don’t count - I have no issues with boomers or morons or whatever other group you’re trying to imply. The only issues that I do have with people are almost exclusively when they try to tell me that the sky isn’t blue. Or that the moon isn’t made of cheese.

0

u/BlackElmyr Apr 22 '26

Sure man, whatever.

2

u/FromDeepestFathom Apr 22 '26

Have a great day!

2

u/BlackElmyr Apr 22 '26

Lol, you too.

4

u/greasygreenbastard Apr 23 '26

 > Or do you just think the majority of Canadians are morons and our of touch Boomers?

Yes.

-4

Even the majority of LPC voters, flawed as their thinking is, didn’t believe that was ever actually going to happen.

Any Canadian civilian who claims they’re going to fight off the fucking American military-industrial complex with a homegrown militia is an abject moron, yes. Even before they took all our guns.

The idea is so ridiculous that it’s genuinely embarrassing to even type out and read back.

-2

Finland. Russia. Isn't it just terrible when history and facts don't fit with your world view?

1

u/NeruLight Apr 22 '26

Don’t forget Myanmar!

0

u/NeruLight Apr 22 '26 edited Apr 22 '26

For every idiot who claims a US invasion would be like Afghanistan or Vietnam or Iraq, there is another idiot who reminds us that hellfire missiles mean it would be instant man in the high castle stuff. The reality is it would be nothing like what has happened before, and I do not believe it would be pretty at all. Think more like the troubles or Algeria, but without religion. Preparedness and resiliency are intrinsically valuable and I believe Canada should pursue that. Elbows up indeed.

1

u/BlackElmyr Apr 22 '26

Your Troubles comparison is far more likely than the "Wolverines" scenario some people paint. The US would also have to deal with the possibility that some people could/would move south and do terrible things to their civilian infrastructure with outsized results.

Mind you there's plenty of boot lickers up here, judging by the threads, that would love to be closer to US power and glory. Think of them as Canada's version of the Vichy. If it ever came to be, here's hoping they meet a similar end.

2

u/NeruLight Apr 22 '26

Yes, they relish our military weakness in a very bizarre and fetish way. It is embarrassing and shameful

22

u/rastamasta45 Apr 22 '26

Every time this is brought up my blood literally boils, Canada is in la la land. I love the elbows up crowd will say things like “Canada will just give us rifles if we get invaded or we’ll have drones” literally ignoring logical realities or the fact you can’t even train before said invasion. This country is a serious one 🤦🏽

24

u/Glistening_rat_vulva Apr 22 '26

Canada voted for this. Unfortunately we have a lot of ignorant urbanite scum in the most densely populated areas who control the vote. Having Montreal select the laws for Alberta and the North makes about as much sense as having the taliban select them. We are very far apart geographically and very very far apart culturally.

-10

u/BlackElmyr Apr 22 '26

Ahhh there we go, urbanite scum. It's hard to believe that so many moderate center-right and moderate center-left voters saw views like this backing the CPC and said NFW. Held their noses and voted Liberal.

I know, next time let's back MAGA associated groups with WS leanings and spout a bunch of anti democracy shit. That'll increase our vote for sure.

13

u/Glistening_rat_vulva Apr 22 '26

I don’t like urban centres dictating what rural and northern people can own. So you have assigned me a political belief system, and made some loose assumptions about white supremacy. There’s the ignorance I was talking about.

-7

u/BlackElmyr Apr 22 '26 edited Apr 22 '26

Right. You call millions of Canadians scum, but I'm the ignorant one. Makes sense.

Forgot to add this. Apparently reading comprehension isn't one of your strengths. I never said anything about your political views other than your urbanite comment. The only additional thing I said is next time we should try the following. I didn't attribute those or any other beliefs to you. But it sounds like you may be sensitive to those accusations. Something you've heard before? I'm sure it's totally undeserved though.

4

u/InstanceClean4114 Apr 23 '26

Hey Dude.

Provost isn't going to fuck you for fighting for her. Relax.

0

u/BlackElmyr Apr 23 '26

Huh, so apparently you think a major motivator for defending your country is getting your dick wet? Lol, that's at you not with you by the way.

2

u/Glistening_rat_vulva Apr 23 '26

You’re not defending the country. You’re defending your Party ™. You’re doing a great job though. Elbows up!

1

u/BlackElmyr Apr 23 '26

Did I hurt babies feelings? I know complex concepts like criticism of one party doesn't mean support of another might be too hard for you to hold in your head while preserving enough brain power to breathe. But I'm not a LPC, NDP or CPC supporter. I've voted for all three parties in Federal and Provincial elections at one time or another. I actually wish the CPC or NDP were more considerd more electable by more Canadians. If nothing else it would atbleast keep the LPC a little less arrogant.

Besides, I never mentioned parties. Why do you think of only a Liberal would want to defend Canada? With your comments it seems safe to assume you're a CPC supporter. You might not want to defend Canada, but by assuming I'm Liberal just because I have and would again, are you saying you don't think CPC supporters are loyal Canadians? I don't think that's true, but it sure seems to be what you're saying.

Or maybe you're just a bot that hasn't really thought through your arguments. Because you kind of stepped in that one.

Not only that but every logistics truck would be hit by a hellfire or something before they left the parking lot. Not to mention bridges and highways gone. Good luck trying to get a rifle.

They should just skip to the middle of the plan, offer folks with a banned rifle the chance to sign up for a special ‘sovereignty’ license that allows them to keep it. They could even offer a firearms safety and storage training program and create a special firearms license classification for those folks. Of course, the folks with the special rifles will have to keep up training by going hunting and shooting and things like that. Seems like a win win.

Lithuania has something like that. It’s called the rifleman’s union and it’s a seperate organization from the military and the reserves. There’s a training requirement that’s a much lower commitment than reserves and members have a special endorsement on their firearms license to be able to buy select fire guns. I believe in the past it also got you suppressors but now I think those are allowed for all firearms license holders there.

Well, some of us have it. But that segment of the Canadian population is being eroded.

I would never sign up for that. Coercion. Forced. Basically a Soviet style conscript.

"DONT CARE, Montreal is more important." Daddy Carney is certainly "uniting" the Country with this mindset lol.

He's done the opposite for me. I originally wasn't going to vote in favor of Alberta Separation. But because of the unprecedented amount of floor crossing he's accepted without ANY By-elections.... I most certainly will be voting in favor of it.

We know its not going to happen, but dont give this fuker the satisfaction of seeing a single digit "in favor" turn out just so he can constantly flaunt that result like he's the second coming of Liberal Christ. uniting Canada, slaying inflation and representing everyone's interests my ass.

Seems like never ever comes from these things. We need a win

In a way these types of letters are wins. If you look at other commonwealth nations like Australia or the UK. When they passed gun control every single person in power from opposition to local leaders supported it. Even their local gun clubs were ok with it. For us to still have such massive push back on many levels is huge.
