Gun and gear reviews Question about Makasi MK-15
Do y’all’s think it’s worth it? Rn all Canadian stores are pre orders so should I get it from the US and ship it over. Any extra info for a new owner would be greatly appreciated

I aint gonna bother with that.. The market is too unstable rn with the buyback, new majority. Too each's own...money aint got no owner's, only spenders. If you can afford it, might as well.

Do they have a 18.6 barrel version state side i can't see it and not likely. Your gonna want non restricted. And warranty if needed will be a issue.

16 longest listed on the manufacturer site but they also have 7.62x39 version mk-47 probably to scary sounding

Not sure but bolt carries appear to be different as well reciever looks like so can't even swap those and barrel if wanted.
Have high suspicion these will get banned just as fast so hopefully people can get deposit back notcsure all the terms on everyone's site. But many got stuck with ar15 delivered after ban and couldn't get refund but we knew that going in. So everyone plan accordingly.

This is what I was concerned about, if I just order from the states it’ll take me 2 weeks max and very low chance of what you mentioned happening

If you buy from states you'll need to see and it will be resticted and in your name if you actually get one from a dealer down there so government will know you have it anyways. Seems like loose loose option

Not sure what you are asking. Do you want to know if it’s worth getting cause of will it won’t it get banned? Or are you asking about how good of a rifle is it and is it worth buying over all? If you put its name in YouTube you’ll find lots of people in the states doing reviews and take downs of the gun

I’m considering it since there aren’t really any centre fire semi autos in Canada. I was trying to figure out whether it was worth snatching before I lose the opportunity to

I wouldn’t worry too much about it disappearing. As long as it doesn’t get banned it will be available to buy.

They only sell the restricted length in the US, so that's a hard no for me.

Only you can answer the question if it's worth for you.
Importing from US would get you Restricted one.
Extra info from 0 owners in Canada is overwhelmingly nonexistent.

Why would it be restricted if it’s imported? It shouldn’t make a difference if I have restricted license right

NO PRE-ORDERS!
If this survives the ban, it is going to be THE rifle on the market by a large margin. All you have to do is wait out the initial hype. If it doesn't get banned, every store is going to stock them. Inventory won't be a problem.

I'm not going to preorder but I'll probably buy one in the fall because I know I'll see them on here and it'll make me cave lol. I had the same worries before buying the Alcor and TM22 but I've enjoyed them for months now and put thousands of rounds through them, so know the risks and if you go for it, go out there and blast away as much as you can!

I got swept up in the hype and went all in. I thankfully was in a position where I could due with the money (was saving for a plate carrier). It's a gamble and ive known loss, but as long as it makes it into my hands it'll be worth it. I'd recommend to any one who doesn't have a semmu 556 to deeply consider it

I don't see getting it through the US being any faster than pre-ordering. The retailers offering pre orders are getting it shipped from the US already. You'd have to buy it in the US, ship it to an importer like IRG, wait for them to do their monthly Import, then ship it to you.
If you want it just pre-order it from a Canadian retailer. However, I would not recommend buying it unless a your able to stomach it being a $2300 paperweight if it gets banned
If it doesn't get banned it will get restocked, don't worry at FOMO, there will be serious demand for it. If it does get banned buying it before it got banned won't help you it'll be illegal to use it.

If someone is getting an R copy from IRunGuns of the Makasi, Third Echelon is still lightly active making Homesteader parts. In order to see if his mid-length WK pistons would work with the Makasi, he needs measurements from the piston and piston socket. His email is operations at thirdechelon dot ca. I believe he's in the Edmonton area if someone needs assistance re-barreling their Makasi with an NR barrel from a firearm with a carbine-length gas tube from another firearm, even if the mid-length piston doesn't work out. FYI, I'm not affiliated with him, just remember him providing parts back in the WK days.

some people are saying its going to get banned, I'm not sure why it would be approved for sale if they are going to ban it. it doesn't make sense to me.

That's what they said about the Alcor and TM22 and RF224 before they came out and we are still going strong and guys are enjoying them. It's always a risk, up to you to decide if it's worth taking

If it was already in Canada maybe, but a 3 month pre order with sites wanting money up front for the total cost.
Not going to bite on that, IF it gets to the point where one is in Canada and I can buy it. Then ya I would.
