Genuinely curious on liberal views of gun laws

Hello all. Looking for a debate on the other side of all of the gun laws / bans from a liberal point of view. How does it ACTUALLY make sense to liberals with the current laws. C21 was passed with hopes of lowering crime? How is that going? The OIC. How has the crime rate gone since? How are these “liberal experts” in power thinking this is actually going to make a difference? Canada could 100% ban every single firearm and gun crime would not go down 1 bit. I don’t really know any liberals to talk about it with I’d actually like to hear their side on it. I’m clearly not an expert on any of this but it just seems so ridiculous

I don’t disagree with anything you said. I’m just trying to hear both sides. My algorithm is very much far right lol. I’d like to hear what liberals have to say about this subject

I love comparing algorithms. My friend who doesn't even own guns has a far right one. Me, a gun owner, my algorithm is full of either Marxist far left shit, goth girls, or whiskey...

Mind you the far left Marxist stuff I get is in full support of firearms, literally suggesting arming to fight the right

They have nothing to say, otherwise you would not have kept repeating yourself that "you wanna hear their POV". Deep down, a lot of the liberals MPs also believe it's a waste of taxpayer money and it's not going to bring down the crime.

It won’t bring crime down even a little. I just don’t understand how they didn’t do more research and say “maybe we need to take a different approach to this than to take from the ppl that have done nothing wrong”. Seems to me like making any firearm crime minimum 5-10 years in prison would be more effective than what they’re doing now. But that’s just me lol
