News / Politics / Activism Owning guns- Right or Privilege?

So obviously here in Canada our government sees private firearm ownership as a privilege rather than a right. My question is, how you guys feel? Do you think gun ownership is a right or a privilege?

When you look at other things people view as rights, such as abortion, freedom of expression and freedom of religion etc. These are all viewed by most as inherently “good rights”, but in many countries these rights are restricted. I think, along with many others, that it is justified to ignore unjust laws that restrict human rights.

I personally believe that firearm ownership is a fundamental human right because it protects all of our other rights and freedoms from being taken away. So even though legally speaking firearm ownership is a privilege that can be taken away at any time here in Canada, I don’t agree with the way our country and many others treat firearm ownership.

Well I'm not sure about that. I don't know the text book definition to be honest. Some of my family members had the misfortune to spend some years in the gulag system. They got a free train ticket to Siberia where they participated in forced labor.

State or no state, Communism means evil as far as I'm concerned.

States are inherently evil sometimes they're just more evil then others.

Definition of Communism.

"Communism is a political and economic ideology aiming for a classless, stateless society based on common ownership of the means of production."

A gulag sounds an awful lot like what a state has which kind of is the opposite of what Communism is by definition.

Ok you probably know a lot more then I do about all this. But it sounds like your argument is that communism is a good thing?you don't need to be a genius to know every single time communism has been attempted it has led to evil, death and destruction. And please don't say "no country has ever tried real communism or something like that". The increasing number of people pushing for communism is super alarming. Actually i find it terrifying.

Sounds like every system ever and again attempted? Do tell me where the stateless society is which group ever actually was serious about attempting it other then just becoming the new powers that be.

They clearly haven't because to be a country is to be a state something you must lack to meet the definition.

You find a stateless society terrifying? Frankly I'm far more terrified about the endless growth ideology that we currently have and has led to far more wide scale harm then even those clearly fake attempts at "communism" as you so describe.
