Application / Regulation advice Belt Fed?

Post image

Saw this on Google images and that got me thinking, if there is no limit on something like a belt then why aren't there more manufacturers in Canada creating belt fed semi autos?

Ahh then that makes sense. I know there were old ww2 German MG's that are semi auto belt fed. Would be fun to have something like a dp28 or anything at this point lol

If I’d known semi RPDs were available I’d have bought one. Wow

I wasn't aware the RPD was NR, i thought it was found to be too easily converted to full auto. Do you have any links? I know M60's used to be legal.

If you can go back time and check the ftr right before the ban you can see it list as nr listed as polytech type56 lmg or rpd-sa

That doesn't seem possible. The type 56 is an AK variant. Are you thinking of the type 81 LMG? That was available for a while prior to the ban.

no, type 56 lmg is the rpd, not the type56 smg (ak) or the type56 semi(sks), chinese just call everything type56 because thats when they bought the technical package for bunch of guns

Do you have any more sources? The one that I recall being the RPD is this one:

And I believe this one was found prohib (unfortunately).

If we really did have the RPD for a week which wasn't prohib I really want to know about it. You can't find anything else like any announcements by TI or anything like that? Super interested to hear about this that's why.

they did not publicly announce it because it only gets the nr status just one week before the ban.

Dang, now that I know about this, this mega sucks. I'm crying for something I only found out today which happened years ago.
