Application / Regulation advice Belt Fed?

Post image

Saw this on Google images and that got me thinking, if there is no limit on something like a belt then why aren't there more manufacturers in Canada creating belt fed semi autos?

Disclaimer: not a lawyer, and even if I were the laws change all the time.

You used to see quite a few nonrestricted TNW belt fed semi autos: Mg34s, browning 1919s, even M2 Brownings. The key phrasing was while the firearm could be new manufacture, the interpretation going around at the time was that for the belts to be over 5 rounds they had to be made pre-1945. No one had any idea how to handle disintegrating links.

All prohib now of course.
