Just don't have friends in my age range (25-35) that like to get out and shoot.

If you have a semi auto 22 and a shotgun, join a multigun match at CHAS or SPFGA (or both).

I fully agree with this suggestion. Along with your shottie, a 10/22 or TM22 would set you up for two-gun match fun.

I work and used to live in the fort and never tried it out, how's the experience?

pretty much:

  1. Get a range membership. SPFGA or CHAS recommended. Phoenix if you want indoor

  2. Go on a weekend.

  3. Talk to people. Most are very friendly.

SPFGA is great. Lots of value for the money you spend on a membership, leagues, all that good stuff. You also get unlimited camping on the property.

If I was on that side of town, I'd be very tempted by SPFGA for the camping  and shooting. Is there hunting there too?

I believe there is at least one hunting property connected to the site and at least one ACA zone between the city and the range.

No hunting at SPFGA. There is ACA land nearby.

SPFGA range is a Cadillac range. Nicest I’ve ever been to.
