Gun and gear reviews New Gun - Adler Arms RF224

Post image

I got myself an Adler Arms RF-224 today and boy I really like the look and compact size of this firearm. I was surprised to learn its a 10/22 copy and takes Ruger mags and it also comes with an adapter for Remington 597 mags. Also 2 Ruger 10/22 rounds mags. I am pleased as punch right now. Can't wait to take it to the range and break it in.

I took it to the range today. I was having feeding issues with the promag 597 magazines. It wasn't lining up so the Operating Handle would not engage fully. I managed to get a few rounds to go in but it would bind up. I had the best luck with the mags that came with the gun ,the first time using it got almost all 10rnds off. Afterwards a few rounds then it would misfire, have to eject the round and get 1-3 rnds before the same thing happened. It definitely needs to be broken in but it is proving difficult.

So you actually got one of the new models with the extended mag release? Any other significant changes you can tell or know of, or is that really it??

honestly don't know much about the gun. It was stove topping and FTF a bunch. I comes with an adaptor for the 597 mags, i couldn't get them to work. It wasn't feeling into the barrel. it was like it was not lining up. I haven't done anything with it yet. I did buy a ejector pin from Volquartsen to see it that helps with it ejecting smoother. Also I cleaned the gun. pretty easy to take it apart from watching videos.

Okay thanks for replying! I replaced the extractor in my Adler with a tandemkross one and now it flicks out empty casings really good. Best of luck!

Im looking at that building a 10/22 from after market parts. I ordered an SBI C71 to start. I email SBI about the G3 chassis kit and they said July they will have more. Probably go with a tandem cross trigger kit and not sure which barrel but it will be a fun build I think. I really love my new journey into firearms.

Yeah after owning the Adler I bought a real 10/22 as well 😆 absolute money pit these plinkers are but they’re super fun to me. I’d love to build an SBI one next , if I was rich I’d do it right now lol
