Fix my gun FAB Defense magazine problem

I have those magazines but for some reason something is wrong and they just don’t work in any 5.56 rifle I tried.

The bolt just gets stuck on lips somehow and doesn’t even touch the round to feed.

I would appreciate if anyone could share their experience. I am sure they are good brand and should work :)

If you want 10 rounds then just go with steel/aluminum mags, they usually work much better. With polymer grab pmags, they are cheap and work.

I see :/ thanks. I have great experience with FAB stocks so thought mags will be as good

If you're after 5.56 stacked mags like this, just get crossmags. They're reliable.

Thanks yeah I have couple dozen other mags ;) Never had a problem at all with any of them.

The notch at the back of mag needs to be squared off. Take one apart and file the rounded bottom corners so they’re 90 degrees square. Reassemble and try it. If it’s still catching you may have to go a bit deeper. Once you have the one mag cycling properly you’ll know how much to remove on the others.

Seems about right, I have yet to hear good things about any FAB defense mag, and personally I always hated the geomotries and looks of their stocks and back up sights, so personally I would never buy these.

You can get cross mags but if you run green tips thats not an option as if they shift even a little they bind up and fail to feed as is the case with my ruger american ranch, on a full mag of 10 usually consistently at round 7 I get a fail to feed due to the rounds shifting

Best thing to do is get 2 steely or aluminum LAR mags and a magwedge base plate to put the 2 together
