TM22 or another SKS?

I recently picked up a Chinese unissued SKS and now I’m thinking about getting one more firearm. I can’t decide if I should grab another SKS and throw it into an aftermarket stock, or just go with a TM22.

I won't be going to the range much, probably only a couple times a year, so it’s not like this will see a ton of shooting. I also don’t have space (or really the need) for a bigger collection, so this would be my last one for a while.

Price-wise, the TM22 Feather is the cheapest, the Pro is somewhere in the middle, and a second SKS with mods would easily end up over $1000.

If TM22 then which one? the feather, 16inch or 18in pro model?

What would you do in my situation?

Everyone needs a 22 plinkster, extremely cheap to shoot and always a ton of fun. You can literally go and shoot 300 rounds for like $50. SKSs are great but right now surplus ammo is basically gone so it isn’t cheap to shoot anymore and they’re insanely overpriced.

The thing is, I know I won’t be able to shoot it enough for ammo cost to make a big difference. I want a modern-looking rifle, but the smaller caliber just doesn’t sound as fun.

The bigger magazines makes up for the smaller bang.
