One silver lining, dare i say it is that pos m10x can't hurt anyones wallet anymore

imagine how many people would rush to buy it if it became legal again

I guess but you are so much better off with a type 81. The m10 was such a pos. I’ve talked so many people outof buying one. The newest version was supposed to fix a lot of issues but I don’t think it was around long enough for us to find out

And Type 81 was less than half the price. You can literally buy two Type 81 and receive two functional rifles instead of one rifle that barely runs on a good day.

You can mount an optic on the M+M and the CSC smithed ones were flawless.

i'll say this for both you and /u/Perfect_Diamond_1128

They did end up eventually fixing it.

there is one for rent at the calgary shooting centre and it has received all the upgrades/fixes and it does actually run now.

i made the mistake of making an offhand joke about it and one of the gunsmiths straight up sat me down and explained everything they did and honestly i enjoy running it for groups more than i do our actual AKs at certain times.

i'll have to take a peak at the round count paperwork tmr but she is up there.

What’s fixed about it? It malfunctions every second round instead of every single round?

u/[deleted] Apr 09 '26

Yes

u/rankuwa Apr 10 '26

Zero malfunctions on the rebuilt receivers. Sorry you bought a shitty early version.

All versions are paper weights. I bought the alleged new gen and it was hands down the worst rifle ever produced. It’d work fine when cold but after warming up from 10-15 rounds being fired it turned into a single shot.

M+M refused to warranty it stating it was the newest version and it must be the ammo (I tried like 5 different ammos). I sent it to the store in Alberta that warranties them and it came back in the same condition.

The m10x doesn’t even deserve to be listed here

That is unfortunate and what I say is not discounting your experience. I speak from the experience of a group of 5 or 6 guys who throughout the summer of 2024 put thousands of rounds through new versions and reported zero malfunctions.

Yet whenever that is discussed, the guys who got burned on the earlier duds pipe up like they are talking about the same thing. They are not. As a poster above stated, CSC was deep into work with the manufacturer and the rifle to improve it, and did. Unfortunately there aren't likely to be very many of them floating around since they were banned a few months later.

I’d eat my shoe if I see a video of one go 100 rounds without a malfunction, even 25 rounds lol. Like I said, M+M told me my “W” serial number was the latest generation and was supposed to be “fixed”. That was in fall of 2021

0

u/rankuwa Apr 10 '26

Then eat a shoe. Its the internet, you know how to find the posts and they are right there for all to see. Not these 200 round r/canadaguns tests either, to say nothing of the CSC range gun that was up to about 10,000 rounds.

Sorry you got a dud.

They’re famously all duds. Now that they’re banned hopefully M+M goes out of business since no one in the US is touching them. If a new firearm needs to be rebuilt by a machine shop, it’s garbage

I'm sorry you got a dud and are too pigheaded to accept that.

I am also sorry that I wasted time on a person who will continue say dumb shit when shown contrary evidence to an absolutist position. Enjoy your world without nuance and may all your rifles stovepipe.

This is a fact that the original purchasers ride to acknowledge in their sourness

What an amazing rifle. It can shoot 2 distinct groups from 1 magazine, when it decided to not jam.

u/Armedfist Apr 09 '26

Remember what they took from us

28

u/Late_Winner6859 Apr 09 '26

—Took— -> “stole”

16

u/BigRedGunNut Apr 09 '26

CZ 858, though they do have the VZ 58 so almost the same thing

11

u/IGnuGnat Apr 09 '26

Missing the vz. 52/57

23

u/Murray3-Dvideos Apr 09 '26

I hate to rub it into todays generation but MAN the CZ 858s / VZ58s. we're soooooooo f'ing GOOD. I often look back and reflect on using one and just gin. The light weight corrosion resistant easy to insert 20 dollar magazines. The stainless steel easy to clean and maintain gas system. Aftermarket thumb safetys, magazine and bolt releases. The compact, beefy, easy to optic mount receiver. Dead nuts reliable, BIBLICALLY accurate for a 7.62x39 semi.

Such a good deer / coyote gun, such a good target rifle.

Fuk you Turdeau and the Liberals who repeatedly voted for him!

u/Geralt-of-Rivai Apr 09 '26

PAK1? They made a handgun that shoots 762?

6

u/Acceptable_Visit_115 Apr 09 '26

Break action, single shot pistol that fires 7.62x39, yes.

In case you feel like a Liberator .45ACP has too little recoil...

3

u/pukalo_ Apr 09 '26

There is also the vz. 52/57 and the HK 32.

2

u/UnderstandingSoft165 Apr 09 '26

TIL Sks-d is newer than type-81?

2

u/rhyno857 Apr 10 '26

The Remington 799 and CZ 527 labels should be switched to match their pictures.

3

u/MustardTiger88 Apr 10 '26

They got the CZ 527 and the Remington 799 mixed up.

3

u/Dizzy-Wedding5769 Apr 09 '26

So cheesed I sold my type 81

4

u/M4cerator Apr 09 '26

The mix of metric and imperial is killing me lol

3

u/GinnAdvent Apr 09 '26

How come I don't see any T81s on it, lol

4

u/Mahatma_Ghandicap Apr 09 '26

...its there, in 1983.

1

u/buttabutta13 Apr 09 '26

1

u/bchelidriver Apr 09 '26

The ruger m77 zytel stock is my unicorn gun in 7.62x39

1

u/PanfriedAgain Apr 09 '26

Was the Norinco M1a really from 2017? I swear I’ve seen them around well before that.

1

u/Murray3-Dvideos Apr 09 '26

The version that should've been listed is actually the M305a. That was the 7.62x39 model. M1a is Springfield exclusively if im correct? I believe the M305a's all had cast bolts so that would date them to the later span of the M305s history in Canada.

super obscure Ingram westarm com / sam-2, saw the thing online years ago, thought I had dreamed it until I scoured armalytics for a few hours, turns out its still non-restricted (unobtanium tho :/)

1

u/Legitimate_Basket962 Apr 10 '26

It's missing the Sig 553-R. Just saying, it's a fine, fine rifle. Expensive, but fine.

1

u/Sensitive_Parking886 Apr 10 '26

RPD came before AK47? Interesting

2

u/-rifle-is-fine- Apr 09 '26

The Saiga 12. There are rifles with the Saiga name too though.
