Looking to buy a .306

I’m looking to buy my first 30-06 but I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed by the options. I’m looking for something under 1K but don’t know where to go from there. Any advice on brands/what I should avoid? (Edited because I am newer to this and put .306 instead of 30-06)

You can buy one of those old Remington semi auto ones well under 1k

Not exactly a sharp shooter tho ^{^} I’d keep it inside 150-200 tops lol, and at that point just get a 30-30 lever gun 😭
