Buy recommendations Looking to buy a .306

I’m looking to buy my first 30-06 but I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed by the options. I’m looking for something under 1K but don’t know where to go from there. Any advice on brands/what I should avoid? (Edited because I am newer to this and put .306 instead of 30-06)

For under 1K, you don't have too many options in terms of brands, especially if you want that price to include the scope. You could go for a Savage Axis, which Bass Pro sells for $639 with a scope, but I have heard that the Savages are not the highest quality. You could also go for a Weatherby Vanguard, a Mossberg Patriot, a Howa 1500 (generally very well rated), and maybe a Ruger American, although that will likely exceed $1k. The Winchester XPR and CVA Cascade might also be a bit over budget, but are also options.
