This reminds me of old Chinese propaganda images where soldiers train their aim by hanging weights under their barrels lol

Interesting. So I’m guessing it’s a way for new recruits to learn proper form, sight picture, etc while reducing recoil. Most militaries had trainers in a small caliber like 22lr, but the Chinese prob didn’t have that luxury.

I think it's also for them to train their arm strength. After all if you can hold a 20lb rifle steady, pointing a 6lb one should be a piece of cake.
