Man, I get down voted like crazy when I say I hated my 10/22. I don't know if I had a lemon or what. But I absolutely hated my 10/22. Bought it brand new years ago. Never really shot it. Got into .22s after a friend got a 10/22. Mine was a total jam-o-matic. I used many different loads, CCI mini mags ended up being the best, but still performed poorly. The mags we're awful, I replaced the extractor. Cleaned it, polished it. Tried everything everyone recommended. My friends is more reliable, but he also dumped the value of a whole 10/22 into after market upgrades.

I had the same experience. I've owned multiple custom 10/22 platform rifles and they are all wonderful once broken in, but the one RUGGER 10/22 I owned was abysmal dogshit. Horribly unreliable, poor trigger, and not really that accurate.

Miniature is also word in french, no need to translate. I hate Provost and the rest of those freaks as much as the next guy, but you're kinda talking out of your ass on this one lol

me too. My 10/22's have all been overwhelmingly mediocre and characterless. They only really get okay when most (or all) of the 'ruger' bits have been replaced. And even then, theyre still pretty boring.

the 10/22 is a mediocre design in the modern day when you realize it's design has not changed much since the 60's. The only reason it's popular is because of it's extensive aftermarket support, never ask a 10/22 owner how much money they have sunken into their "cheap pinker" that still can't outshoot a savage mark 2.

The best part of a 10/22, you always end up an extra stock 10/22 down the road by the time you're done.

I absolutely hate the 10/22 mags tbh. Just for that alone I don’t want one, but I can appreciate the firearms.

I really wanted to love mine, nothing but problems with jamming and bolt getting stuck. In the middle of Project Mapleseed too.

Mine is fully custom like yours. Cost is astronomical but it is a fun rifle.

Did you win the barrel lottery? I see some ruger carbon barrels shoot great and then some that are just meh.
Ruger makes a carbon custom shop one that uses the same grey birch chassis. Though I haven’t seen any in Canada and probably will end up costing the same as your build here.

GBS makes great rifles but seem to be pretty shit people. It's unfortunate a Canadian company moved to the US and went full Trump.

I know lots of people love them, and maybe I just had 2 lemons, but honestly, I found the two that I had (10-22 and SR22) to be the worst, most unreliable semi-automatic rifles I've ever owned or shot. It didn't matter what ammo I fed them, Stingers and mini-mags were just as bad as bulk stuff. It felt like every single clip had at least one FTF or FTE event. Totally unreliable and frustrating to shoot. I sold them both

Everyone should own a 10/22 with almost no ruger parts*. Ruger is garbage.

ahahaha fun to upgrade but ruger is good man i have a few American in 6.5 creed 22-250, rpr 308 & 338 I’ve never had any issues, and it actually groups very well for a factory barrel.

I have tried unloading my 12ga for a couple months now to get either a good 10/22 or a cheaper bolt but so far no luck lol
