22s are great. People don’t realize how much ammo it takes to harness their skills. It’s cheap to buy to own and to shoot

Pistol calibers aren’t really that much more impressive to me. Yeah magnums are punchy but like, .22 has recoil and smoke too .. .22 is so underrated I just find it super fun

Man I love my 457. Fun to shoot cheap to shoot. I do all kinds of fun stuff with it. Shooting shotgun shells at 50 yards. Plinking at 100. Shoot all afternoon and it costs less than a case of beer.

A case costs $15 these days

100 cci sv set you back about 16 bucks. If you are not doing spray and pray kinda fun, it’s enough for a 2 hours session. How much is 100 cheap Chinese 7.62? 50 bucks on a good deal sometimes 60 or more.
The math is simple.

The variety of guns styles & shapes available for that range platform, is also good.
But the lack of recoil oomph, is maybe what keeps swaying owners away from acquiring more of them.
If they were the best for a specific type of hunting, I'm sure they'd have received more popular votes as a suggestion to buy.

I understand some people like the kicking power. I like shooting tight group, practice breathing and holding still.
It’s almost like martial arts for me tbh.

You can imagine grown men in Canada debating which .22 gun they can buy, meanwhile American teenagers are taking M240B, .50Cals, & Stacattos to the range like it's just another Friday.

I think if thats a real Elcan. It’s more optic than I would put on a Turkish delight.

It is. Bit of a "find" but no tritium unfortunately.

I think... you need to remove that wooden SKS handguard and get a black one :P

u/Lopsided_Ad3516 Apr 04 '26
You know what? That thing refused to be removed, so I left it. It's now forever part of the SKS.

mag extensions i don’t mind. mag extensions that looks like they take 556; kinda gay. you asked!
1
u/Lopsided_Ad3516 Apr 04 '26
Yeah that's fair. Have enough 556 mags but nowhere to use them unfortunately.
1
u/1anre Apr 25 '26
Noticed the mag looks like it extends behind the provided space.
Aren't there exact fits in this AK-mag style available?
1
u/Lopsided_Ad3516 Apr 25 '26
Not sure I'm following. They're just sleeves that cover the dinky little TM22 10rnd mags. Pretty sure it's just a PMAG with some structure inside so you can plop the actual magazine in and screw the sleeve back together.

What caliber is the citadel and how do you like it?
1
u/Lopsided_Ad3516 Apr 04 '26
- Not bad. Definitely rough on the feed gate, but I've played around with the follower and it works well.

u/CLIMAXJONES Apr 04 '26
I just picked up the Same citadel . Do you think the riser is a must if I end up putting a dot on it ?!

You did all that and didn’t change the stock

u/Lopsided_Ad3516 Apr 04 '26
Commercial spec and I don't have anything lying around that would fit it. It's on the list of to-do's
