Is yours in .30-06 or .308? All I was able to find at any store was the .308 post war versions

That's awesome. Mine is a 1947 I think? Chambered in 308 from the factory. It's very cool and such a fun gun, I feel very lucky to have one at all tbh

Yes, I quite enjoy the Garand. I got my throat fucked HARD when the SVT got banned, not very expensive I totally could've bought one I just didn't. Really wanted one too. Wasn't gonna let that happen again.

Looks really nice! I am in the process of oiling a Husqvarna 1640 beechwood stock with tung oil. I have done so far 4 coats thinned with mineral spirits and a pure one. Not too happy with the last one so I’ll go back to thinned coats. What’s your procedure?

Hope you mean the wood, garand actions should be greased for lubrication. Gotta keep those old gals running smooth
