Milsurps / Prohib Heckler & Koch HK USP/P8 Appreciation Post
Howdy Folks!
The Texan is Back with yet ANOTHER Gun Appreciation Post!
Another gun once available in the Canadian Gun Market before the handgun freeze and essentially prohibition of handguns. But when it was available you could get them.
Anyways, today we have the classic HK USP Pistol, and honestly, this pistol made a statement for the philosophy of what it should be in the modern era unofficially if you think about it. There were pistol lights with it, and that was something that the USP did in the early days of its release. It was pretty ahead of its time because they bridged classic pistol design with modernity, and they made mounting weapon lights a whole lot easier.
The USP was also one of the first pistols built from the ground up specifically for the higher pressures of the .40 S&W cartridge, and yeah some might see .40 S&W as a dated cartridge, but for its time, it was actually pretty impressive.
It was also very corrosion resistant too, meaning it would LAST FOR YEARS.

My fascination with this pistol is that it's the one that CT started with in CS 1.6
It's definitely one of the iconic arms along with Glock and Beretta.

I remembered my friend wanted to get some photos of him shooting his USP .45. I stood behind him off to the side, and a hot piece of brass arced through the air and fell down the shaft of my tall boot. I had tights on so I didn't burn, but it was a hot potato.
Lucky shot, I thought. But then two more hot brass came the same way! I learned how much hotter .45 ACP is compared to 9 mm.
Since then I stopped wearing those boots to the club. I've also done some more running so my calves fill up the boots much better!
The USP itself was very light recoiling for a .45 shooting bulk.
