Feets / Collection / My build Sako 90 Grizzly - sometimes you win the wood lottery
Ordered online hoping for decent wood and the shop delivered and then some I’d say. Might be laser enhanced as Beretta does that on their semi-autos but it appears to be natural (woodworker here so I have some finishing knowledge) ordered through The Gun Dealer as a replacement for a Browning that would not group, their in store warranty program is excellent (truly not shilling for them) it was no questions asked when I contacted them about the bad grouping out of the Browning, absolutely seamless experience.

Never , ever sell that gun. Heirloom wood for sure. I wish I could afford a Sako

Make sure you get whatever wood finish/conditioner they recommend and apply when appropriate. This thing is a work of art. If it was mine I'd want to be sure its kept mint for my great grandson to take moose or bucks with it someday

Everytime someone mentions the gun dealer I have to say that they're awesome to deal with. I hope I have the opportunity to drop in in person sometime.

I was having trouble with a Browning X-Bolt 2 Mountain Pro that I bought from them, it simply would not hold a group under 2-3 inches across about 12 different types of ammo I tried. I had bought their in-store warranty on the gun as it was expensive and I figured for an extra $120 why not, can't hurt.
Best money I ever spent, I sent them an email looking for advice on what I could do to get the Browning sorted out and shooting decently as their are a mountain of variables that go into how something is grouping, primarily the idiot behind the trigger.
They called me the next morning in response to my email and said they already had a case opened with Browning to return it as a defective rifle and offered me to exchange it for something else they had in inventory or could get in. So I scooped up the Sako. I covered the cost of shipping the Browning back to them and they shipped the Sako back to me as soon as the Browning arrived back to them...absolutely seamless experience. The sales guy I dealt with at The Gun Dealer mentioned I wasn't the first person to have issues with that particular model of the X-Bolt 2, so instead of rolling the dice on another Browning I went Sako, no regrets so far.
