Buy recommendations First 308, need scope recommendations
Any scope recommendations for my first 308? Mostly for coyotes/targets 300-500 yards on a ~$2500 budget?

Yeah… 5.7 lb. At least the hike will be easier!

Guys it’s a .308 it will not “kick”. My vote is Leupold VX6 3-18x44.

While the 308 is not a heavy recoiling cartridge, it will be a little snappy in a light configuration like this. A little less so with rings and scope.
I recently bought a rifle that also weighs 5.7lbs and shot it both in 308 and 6.5CM, the 308 was notably more.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen a gun like that before, it looks great.

Let us know if it was worth it when you take it out in the bush for a few days. Looks light.

I do not have a scope recommendation.
I do however, want to say that is one sexy rifle. You could totally pick up chicks with a Benelli Lupo.

I bought watches and cars for that but for some reason only impressed other dudes. Hopefully this turns the tables on the lady situation.

Consider looking at the Nightforce NX8 line (e.g. 4-32 or 2.5-20) or their upcoming NX6 releasing later this year. They can be found used in the 2500-2800 range depending on the model.
IMO you won't find a more durable scope on the market for the weight. You might be able to save a couple oz with a Leupold, but the reassurance that your scope will never go down in the field or on an extended hunt is worth it to go NF.

It's a shame the leapold mark 5hd 3.6-18 is out of budget it's like the perfect scope for a light weight build.

I have like 6 vortexes at this point, always good bang for your buck and a rock solid warranty with easy customer service. You could drop your scope out if a treestand and you’ll have a new one the next week.

Am i the only one that thinks this would be unpleasant to shoot? And for optics you gotta go leupold, night force or sworavski

Looks like there’s some holes in your gun, might want to get those fixed first
