Still too may people participating.

16

u/gihkal Apr 02 '26

It's mostly commercial suppliers.

They kind of have to participate because of they don't the feds will just come and steal all of their legally acquired hunting equipment with no compensation.

-191

u/No-Contribution-6150 Apr 02 '26

Those with listed restricted might as well

107

u/yourskullisred Apr 02 '26

No they shouldn't. I have multiple and there is no way I would sign up to give their plan any support. Anyone who did sign up can still withdraw it's not too late. I'd rather destroy them myself then help their project.

-116

u/No-Contribution-6150 Apr 02 '26

Ultimately the result is the same though.

The logical answer is to try to get some money back and be part of a class Acton suit later

57

u/ant_accountant Apr 02 '26

I hope i'm never in a prisoners dilema situation with you. Although I guess I kind of am already, and you're taking the best presonal outcome, while ignoring the optimal group outcome. .

-67

u/No-Contribution-6150 Apr 02 '26

Do you really think they'll hurt turn around and say oh shucks, there was low turn out, I guess we'll forget about this?

This is a calculated, anti-west, anti-conservative move. It isn't based on logic which is why you can't logic your way out.

I hope I'm wrong but I do highly doubt it.

52

u/Reasonable_Hall2346 Apr 02 '26

Yes, an even lower intake would have made them take a serious look at the failure. You participating helps boost up their talking points, especially when you are not likely to get compensated, even in the low intake scenario.

33

u/ant_accountant Apr 02 '26

Have you ever heard of the velvet revolution in communist occipied Czech republic? It was one of the most peaceful revolutions in history. The country was under a puppet government from the USSR, and while the government was under direct communication with top Russian officials, many of the beurocratic officers were Czech.

If you would have lived through it you would recognize your own argument here. What are we to do, fight the USSR? It's better to at least have a job. The secret police have been disappearing anyone that speaks out of line. Even those who wrote articles YEARS ago have been tracked down and taken care of. I'd rather have a job in government and survive, even if I had to rat our my countryman.

Then the velvet revolution happened, starting with a student protest that caught fire. The final show of defiance was ordinary people who took to the streets and jingled their keys to show they were done participating. And the puppet government simply collapsed under the collective peaceful defiance.

That's a story for you or anyone who thinks that defiance by the people has no effect. In fact, a weak or unpopular government is terrified of defiance. Because it risks showing the world thay they are wearing no clothes.

u/HappyCan7250 Apr 02 '26

If you think it's a large anti-west and anti-conservative movement, isn't that just even less of a reason to comply?

I mean registering, you're still not getting paid, the program is already broke. You can not comply with the program while still also being in compliance with the law by October.

Don't give them the numbers (although it already closed).

I imagine you did with up sadly. Do you want to be one or the 30,000 folks who who signed up (what is it, like 67kguns and 30-35k people?), who will be paraded around by the Liberals as proof that gun owners want this program? "look, 67k guns got declared! Canadian gun owners support this program!"

Man, I would literally feel like I completely betrayed my own beliefs and morals if I joined in on this bullshit. It goes against beliefs that I hold dear, and care about. Freedom, self reliance, and preservation of my way of life.

If I have to, I'll cut my shit up with a grinder before the end date. Id rather lose the cash than sell out my soul and morals to the LPC.

1

u/Imaginary-Text4690 Apr 02 '26

Exactly there no world any of these pussies who “have a large net worth” or “ have a family to feed” need to do this shit it’s a joke there not getting money they tell you it’s voluntary there’s no reason no to wait til October to grind your shit. Even if your tight on money you can’t be that desperate to help make our side lose and still 85% chance you won’t see a dime. These people are the reason it’ll work. Like I said if your that scared destroy it come the end of amnesty.

9

u/[deleted] Apr 02 '26

Ultimately the result is the same though.

This is not a given. It's not over until the fat lady sings.

(Also, you actually think you'll get paid? Lol)

2

u/No-Contribution-6150 Apr 02 '26

Do you think you'll get anything if you don't?

Unless they cancel it altogether, what exactly is the benefit of not telling them what they already know?

6

u/FromDeepestFathom Apr 02 '26

That is the benefit, how do you not understand? If actual 0 compliance occurred, there is no (even illogical) way that this would continue. I don’t like Carney, but he’s a hell of a lot smarter than Trudeau.

2

I bet you said the same about the Long Gun Registry (assuming you even know about what that was).

-26

u/No-Contribution-6150 Apr 02 '26

The main point we have against the project is the cost

Make it as expensive as possible. Why do their work for them?

18

u/38283747483 Apr 02 '26

They aren’t paying out lol, they’ve already made it too expensive for themselves and their budget is shot.

7

u/CanuckBard Apr 02 '26

And regardless of how many they get, youll still get 10 cents on the dollar for it. Where do you think the money will come from when they decide to bring back retired OPP and RCMP to go door to door? That will take money from the budget too. Most of the money was spent on logistics and admin. Im not planning on giving mine. Id rather destroy it if it comes down to it

13

u/WeightedDips95 Apr 02 '26

"Why do their work for them" - "Just participate in their buyback scheme after theyve repeatedly used participation numbers to justify the ban!"

What are you smoking on anon?

-24

u/No-Contribution-6150 Apr 02 '26

They'll use any number to justify it.

I swear it's like y'all are 22, Voted in one election and have 0 experience in how politicians operate.

10

u/WeightedDips95 Apr 02 '26

Id be careful about calling people ignorant with the stuff you are saying brother.

Youre not wrong that they would use any number to justify, but theres still room for it to look more pathetic to the public the lower the number gets.

In any case, if everyone thought like you, than they collect even more guns than their low ball estimate, and it would be a resounding success. So good on you!

-6

u/No-Contribution-6150 Apr 02 '26

They know where the restricteds are. It's just a matter of time.

Saying there are thousands of non-compliant r pal holders can frame us as criminals who aren't obeying the law.

The gov't has an ideological opponent. There is no rationalizing with them. It's why they won't stop this crap.

You can't logic someone out of a position they didn't logic themselves into.

I have seen this same bravado on reddit before and it has never changed anything unfortunately

7

u/WeightedDips95 Apr 02 '26

Dude, youve literally been handed a gift from the Liberals, who were dumb enough to put the amnesty off for another year after the buy back. In fact, its not even cause theyre dumb, it was them literally admitting that they have zero idea of what theyre doing, and showing us/ the world their wide open belly.

And instead of exploiting this, by literally.... doing f*cking nothing and just waiting for the thing to look like a resounding failure, youre on reddit telling people to sign up for a voluntary gun buyback where theyve said most people wont even be paid.

You honestly arent very smart or principled. Comply all you want, but can you at least just keep your weak-willed thoughts to yourself please?

2

u/No-Contribution-6150 Apr 02 '26

Sorry what gift? I can't use anything I own. Eventually I'll be forced to hand em over for nothing.

u/Successful_Swim6332 Apr 02 '26

I have 2 AR and 1 non restricted and I declared all 3. These things are useless and have been collecting dust for a few years. If I can't use them they are pointless.

Here is the thing. Declaring vs not declaring is a distinction without a difference. There is no way for me to turn in my guns without compensation and I will not until that is true.

The program is not funded and not coordinated that is completely the fault of the Feds let them deal with the mess they created.

The most important thing is getting the bills repealed this non-declaration is just a stalling tactic. Without new people who are handgun and restricted owners we will lose in the future.

1

u/Successful_Swim6332 Apr 02 '26

We are just stalling for time by not declaring.

The big thing is getting the various bills repealed.

1

u/No-Contribution-6150 Apr 02 '26

Repealed by the same gov't with an effective majority? Lol.

The SCC is not on our side.

-1

u/Successful_Swim6332 Apr 02 '26

Which is honestly the larger problem. We hitched our wagon to the CPC who are not all that competent atm and who do not care about firearms rights that much. Harper during his almost 10 years could've done more.

2

u/RoughDraftRs Apr 02 '26

The main point we have against the project is the cost".

Here I thought the main point is it was stupid and wasn't going to have any effect on gun crime or public saftey.

2

u/No-Contribution-6150 Apr 02 '26

Yeah they don't actually care about that it's pretty obvious.

We win this by highlighting the cost.

Letting them have free guns is a win for them

1

u/rel4pse_ Apr 02 '26

so turning in your guns is you winning? dude wtf lol

1

u/No-Contribution-6150 Apr 02 '26

Having to chop em up for nothing isn't exactly winning either

33

u/[deleted] Apr 02 '26

I have a restricted Kriss Vector in 45 ACP. I ain't complying, fuck this government, and this program.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 02 '26

Why?

7

u/No-Contribution-6150 Apr 02 '26

Because they already know about them. Those are the easy ones to get by invalidating a pal or sending police to enforce the confiscation

I don't get how they keep blaming the gun lobby when poly and the rest of anti-gun lobby is considerably more powerful. Like poly installed their own person into the government, if anyone else did that it would be called corruption.

36

u/Lumindan Apr 02 '26

I don't get how they keep blaming the gun lobby

Because being the victim is what they're good at. Look they're the plucky underdog fighting the good fight. It's all about framing for them

if anyone else did that it would be called corruption.

One could argue that platforming a group like them for votes is as dirty as it gets and it's never been about public safety...

31

u/Reasonable_Hall2346 Apr 02 '26

Its easy. The voters they are targeting believe we are like the USA. The "gun lobby" in their mind is an all powerful entity and equate it to the NRA in USA.

11

u/HappyCan7250 Apr 02 '26

We should get Rod from the CCFR to join the CPC and run in a super safe Alberta or SK riding and get our own lobbyist into the HOC. Or someone like him at least.

Granted, props to the CPC who have actually been keeping this subject alive in the house. I'm glad they haven't just ignored it and that we are still regularly seeing CPC MPs and Polievre continuing to grill the government on the subject. Gives me some hope the CPC will undo all this bullshit one day because some of the CPC members (rural MPs) seem to genuinely care about the subject.

9

u/Fine-Tie2651 Apr 02 '26

There is no gun lobby in Canada. You can look Up the lobby groups and you’ll find that none actually exists. And when I say gun lobby, I mean the American gun lobby which is what they’re often referring to

5

u/WeightedDips95 Apr 02 '26

Accusing your enemy of what you are doing is a pretty common theme of these leftist authoritarians, you see it all the time, like when they say we are the peddlers of disinformation whilst lying in every breath. So that could be it.

Most of their foot soldiers like Natalia and Gary probably arent smart enough to do this conciously however. The whole gun lobby thing like others have said is probably an imported talking point from the US. It has zero basis here but they exploit the fact Canadians consume so much American media and the pre-built hatred infrastucture created towards gun lobbies in the US over the last 20 years.

Its literally the same playbook the used to win against PP. Canadians hate Trump, so such call PP maple maga. Theyve called the CCFR NRA North many times.

50

u/Newftube Apr 02 '26 edited Apr 02 '26

Yeah? Not nearly as corrupt as the GunLobbytm owning all the police services (including the RCMP, apparently). /s

Seriously though that bit about every police service falling for GunLobbytm propaganda is friggin baffling, even for Poly.

Edit: Some grammar

39

u/thxxx1337 Apr 02 '26

Who'd have guessed that jobs that require firearms, would attract people who enjoy using firearms? Let's convene a committee and bring in 2 consulting firms to figure this one out.

30

u/mischling2543 Apr 02 '26

You have it backwards - people who use firearms for their jobs necessarily become educated about firearms and see through the Liberal lies

9

u/thxxx1337 Apr 02 '26

They can both be true. Time for another committee

10

u/Infinite_Price_3550 Apr 02 '26

I think we need a committee for all these committees

3

u/HappyCan7250 Apr 02 '26

Expert panel time!!! The LPCs favourite way to launder and waste money!

5

u/No-Contribution-6150 Apr 02 '26

Conflict of interest is a feature

0

u/Mo-Cance Apr 02 '26

You can say what you want about Provost, but she wasn't "installed," she was lawfully elected. Let's not dive into rhetoric, when the facts of the issue are more than enough to support us.

6

u/skelecorn666 Apr 02 '26

But what's the minister of nature doing in the public safety portfolio?

42

u/thxxx1337 Apr 02 '26

I'm sure it's just a coincidence that gophers and pop cans are running rampant in our country.

6

u/HornyGoatWeedGuzzler Apr 02 '26

Its so fucking ridiculous these news agencies never mention how there is probably at least 500k banned weapons in country. If we're LUCKY they mention the 136,000 budgeted for. Fucking INSANE they just never mention this particularly damaging piece of information.

26

u/tindrummer99 Apr 02 '26

So……taxpayers get some money back? /s

11

u/Parking_Media Apr 02 '26

Nah, our children just owe a little less in debt

1

u/Mercrantos2 Apr 02 '26

Yes but only boomers so they can go on a third vacation this year.

25

u/Cordel2000 Apr 02 '26

CBC puts in a picture of a gun from the US, why don’t they insert a Ruger No1 rifle they are banning or maybe an SVT 40 rifle.Media always showing guns we can’t buy here to scare non-gun owners.

9

u/Spider-King-270 Apr 02 '26

Scare tactics, I think I saw national post use an SVT, type 81 and AR in there op photo, but yeah some still use ether full auto video clips from ranges in burger land or gun shows in Wisconsin.

5

u/Cordel2000 Apr 02 '26

Last week’s article they showed a police officer in tactical gear with an assault rifle and CBC calling the rifle a patrol rifle maybe they should call the guns the general gun owners have parade rifles.

17

u/Doc911 Blaser Rifles & Beretta Shotguns Apr 02 '26

And more than 10x that are in the wild, so they PLANNED to rob 90% of us.

3

u/HornyGoatWeedGuzzler Apr 02 '26

They see the middle class as a threat to their elevated existence. If everybody is poor, unarmed, and worried about criminals running around everywhere, they can't focus their attention against the ruling class.

12

u/Randers19 Apr 02 '26

Because they’re about to pull some shit that they know people will retaliate for

4

u/MomusSinclair Apr 02 '26

Big war coming, don’t want anyone getting the bright idea they done have to fight to preserve the portfolios of billionaires.

1

Archano Tyranny

18

u/ThePoeticJester Apr 02 '26

Fuck yeah! Eat a dick!

Plus many will pull out, which is what Gary boys dad Should have done

28

u/rastamasta45 Apr 02 '26

Decently balanced article if CBC LPC propaganda trash.

The quote from poly is literally fucked up, saying “one half gets paid and the other half doesn’t” like they just open want hostile divisions in this country. Which is hilarious because the day they want a hostile takeover it’s the people who complied they’ll go after first, since they disarmed them.

We need more articles talking about the total number of guns actually circulating, the billion dollars that just got lit on fire and the fact Gary is banking on retired cops to do the collecting.

11

u/Goliad1990 Apr 02 '26

The quote from poly is literally fucked up, saying “one half gets paid and the other half doesn’t” like they just open want hostile divisions

People aren't just being drama queens when they say that these people hate you. Their media statements are dripping with spite.

4

u/rastamasta45 Apr 02 '26

Oh 100%, they even had to add “the people who didn’t comply are listening to the gun lobby” basically saying they’re the enemy of Canada.

Lovely country we’re in eh

4

u/bombhills Apr 02 '26

No, they planned to seize without compensation.

11

u/MixSpecific4630 Apr 02 '26

You would think a lot of that came from stores maybe ? Did they ever do a breakdown on stuff like that ?

11

u/thxxx1337 Apr 02 '26

A week ago Gary mentioned it was 51k guns (at the time) and 26k declared then. Who knows how many guns are commercial, but I guess there was somewhere close to 30k users by the end.

3

u/MixSpecific4630 Apr 02 '26

Thanks I missed that in all the lovely news stories the last week 🤦‍♂️

That doesn't mean they're not lumping them in together. These are the same people that are claiming there's only 137k prohibs.

3

u/HornyGoatWeedGuzzler Apr 02 '26

30k absolute chuds who sold out themselves and their country for less than 5k (if anything)

4

u/luckeycat Apr 02 '26

136k doesn't even cover what they have banned. Which is ridiculous to begin with. What a clown show.

4

u/SirKickBan Apr 02 '26 edited Apr 02 '26

Actually, you don't understand. There are only two guns in all of canada, so really, we accomplished our goal thirty three thousand times over! Don't you feel safer?

3

u/Priorsteve Apr 02 '26

Maybe they should either pay what the guns are worth.... or just go away

2

u/gwhh Apr 02 '26

Nice job Canada. Keep fighting back.

4

u/Who_Am_AI_YouTube Apr 02 '26

This means everyone that declared gets more than the list price…right libs? No excuses. Pay up

1

u/Blood-Wolfe Apr 03 '26

Mass non-compliance! Stand our ground!

-13

u/Flat-Dark-Earth Big Bore Specialist Apr 02 '26

Must be all those liberal gun owners we keep hearing about.

20

u/Appropriate-Regret-6 Apr 02 '26

Checking in. I like guns and helping people.

I also don't like people telling me what to do.

21

u/RJG1983 Apr 02 '26

Me too buddy, I want the LGBTQIA BIPOC workers owned cooperative weed farm down the street to be able to defend themselves with legally acquired firearms of any action or caliber.

12

u/Mo-Cance Apr 02 '26

Right here with you.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 02 '26

None of what you said necessarily makes you a Liberal gun owner.

It sounds like you've fallen for the propaganda that conservatives and libertarians hate other people.

5

u/Mo-Cance Apr 02 '26

Buddy, browse this sub for 10 minutes. They're are plenty of people here that wish violence upon anyone left-leaning.

1

u/TheeDirtyToast Apr 02 '26

"I also don't like people telling me what to do."

Supporting the most bloated, bureaucratic government in Canadian history, who repeatedly infringes on the rights of Canadians tells a different story.

If you think the liberals give two fucks about helping people I have a bridge to sell you.

2

u/Mo-Cance Apr 02 '26

Upper and lower-case L's make a huge difference when talking about liberal values. The current L bears little resemblence to what a lot of Liberals stand for, which includes individual property rights and due process.

1

u/TheeDirtyToast Apr 02 '26

And yet they still vote for the party destroying our country.

The main issue here is that the comment I replied to is suggesting that if you vote Conservative it means you don't care about others, so they vote for the party thats killing people with legal drugs, MAID, third world mass immigration, etc because of a complete lie.

2

u/Mo-Cance Apr 02 '26

Wait, you claim to be against the infringement of rights, but don't support a person's right to end their own life? Seems pretty contradictory.

They also didn't indicate who they voted for, and it's really none of your business anyway.

0

u/TheeDirtyToast Apr 02 '26

I support a person's right to end their life, sure. If they are terminally ill. As with every policy the left jumps on they have way overshot the target and we are now killing people with treatable conditions which is gonna be a no from me.

As far as whonthey voted for they are here "checking in" as a "liberal gun owner". I'll let you connect the dots on that one.

After 11 years to reflect on, anybody who still proudly calls themselves a liberal and votes for this government is a complete fool, and doing a disservice to this country.

0

u/Mo-Cance Apr 02 '26

That's a whole load of misinformation about MAID. There are numerous guardrails in place to ensure a patient qualifies, and people aren't being killed while also being treatable - that's one of the main components of the program.

None of us here like it when non-gun owners spread BS about firearms. Maybe try extending that notion to other sensitive issues.

2

u/TheeDirtyToast Apr 02 '26 edited Apr 02 '26

You might want to start reading the papers dude.

Google is your friend

Yikes

They just keep coming

1

u/Mo-Cance Apr 02 '26

Literally one anecdote. Concerning? Yes. Indicative of the whole program. Absolutely not.

Also, as per the article: "Canada’s MAID law requires two medical practitioners to agree that the person has a serious disease or disability causing unbearable physical or psychological suffering and is in an advanced and irreversible state of decline."

Another qualified doctor would still need to conduct their own lines of inquiry and come to the determination of eligibility for MAID.
