Application / Regulation advice Legality of folding stock adapter?

hello, I was recently looking at a folding buffer tube made from the states, and I am wondering about the legality of putting it on an MRA Renegade. If the rifle cannot be fired but can be stored at under 26 inches, would it still be legal? IMO id think if it wasn’t legal, things like the 10/22 takedown would be at risk

The law only states if it can be fired when folded to sub 26”. The BCL BISON folds to sub 26 but can’t be fired and that’s NR

Fun fact. The BCL guns that fold sub 26" can be fired when folded, so they are actually restricted according to the law, but the rcmp has them listed as NR on the FRT.

The frt for them was supposedly rubber stamped, and the rcmp didn't even look at the gun, they just took their word. If the gun is on fire, then the stock is folded, it will fire like normal.

IIRC when it's folded but not locked it can be fired (as the mechanism doesn't engage until it's locked), and the RCMP deemed that okay for some reason lol

Folded but not actually locked into place, right? Just kinda floppy. I’d love to put a folding stock on my RF224 but my understanding is you can’t be less than 26” by means of a folding stock.

Interesting, there’s another gun on the market that I discovered should be restricted by the letter of the law but isn’t (for a totally different reason).

What is considered "unable to be fired"? For example, if the stock interferes with the charging handle, I assume that is considered non-fireable? I am thinking of putting a folding stock onto a 10/22 SBR.

Unable to fire is gun cannot go bang, while folded. Even if it only fires 1 round thats still firing.

The BCL bolt gun have a feature where when it folds it acts as a safety and prevents the trigger from being pulled. There are also Turkish shotguns that have a folding stock disconnector. They are all legal because when they are folded under 26" you can't fire them.
