Buy recommendations Firearms outlet Canada
Are they as bad to buy from as I've heard? I'm looking for a Henry long ranger in .308 for some moose hunting, and they're the only place in Canada I've found them in stock.

I've ordered from them a couple of times. Some bad reviews sketched me out as well, but I've had no issues honestly. It's been about a year since and I haven't noticed anything weird on my credit card statements.
Their latest attempt at opening a range is stupid as hell tho. AI slop all over the damn place with ridiculous membership pricing.

That's the issue with them, they have some not bad prices, and you won't have any immediate issues on a one-off purchase.
The problem is they keep having blunders like the credit card fraud and now this AI slop range nonsense. They make really questionable decisions for you to trust for your firearms and big ticket purchases.

Theyre a real shop with good deals. They just have a history about losing people's private payment info and being totally unapologetic. I dont know if they have the option to pay with PayPal, but that may be safer.

you can pay with sezzle, and if i'm not mistaken, they don't recieve your credit card information using this (FoC)

I pay with Sezzle everytime with them, just because I've had issues with them accepting my main card. Just use pay in full when I do it, but yes, it does also keep your CC info separate as Sezzle pays on your behalf

If you, and 30 other people all had your cards compromised immediately after buying from SFRC then I'd begin to think there's a correlation.
I'm not sure why you're denying what is a well known issue, that there was a systemic problem with FOC either a staff member or a service they used were compromised and it resulted in dozens of FOC clients getting their cards compromised. FOC took the airlines approach to conflict resolution by denying, and deflecting and refusing to admit there was an issue at all. I can't tell you how many people said when they reported it to FOC they heard "wow that's the first time I've heard of something like this". FOC must've had 30+ first times ever hearing about cards being compromised, and this issue went on for roughly 2 years.
That's a big issue to me. I don't fault anybody or any company for shit happening, because shit will happen. But I absolutely hold people and corporations accountable by their responses to shit happening and FOC gets a recurring failing grade

Ordered a couple guns and a bunch of ammo off them, they are my go-to honestly. Never had a problem.

Canada computers had their website hacked and tons of people got compromised. Shit happens, I still shop at CC. I went to the FOC store and bought something on card, no worries. literally no one else in Ontario had that item. The FOC web inventory is one of the better store fronts for comparing items and prices.

The CC hack was extra rough cause iirc it was a corporate server that was sold off with data still on it and it leaked a bunch of employee details like addresses and SINs as well as customer info

People weren't pissed simply because they were compromised, as you point out that can happen anywhere.
People were pissed because FOC knew about it for weeks and didn't tell anyone while continuing to take orders.
Here's FOC themselves, laying out the timeline:
- October 2022: Visa informs FOC they have a security issue that has compromised online orders for the last 4 months, affecting up to 200 customers.
- 7 November: FOC actually fixes the vulnerability.
- 15 November: FOC makes their first public statement about the issue, in response to a Reddit thread.
Presumably, they were just hoping it would all blow over and they could sweep it under the rug without scaring off potential customers, especially with Black Friday looming in a few weeks. Unfortunately for them, people put 2 and 2 together and figured out something was up.
I will never give those scumbags another penny.

Moneris is the credit card processor on the receipt so they definitely accepted master card.

This is the key detail all of FoC's white knighting cucks gloss over. Its not that it happened. No one with a brain cares about that. Its how they handled it shows who they are as a company.
A company morally on par with the liberals. I guarantee FoC was first in line to try and get money from the store buyback too.

Purchased from FOC a few times (a couple restricted handguns + other bits and bobs) and never had any issues. This was a few years ago, however. Not sure what’s changed in the last 3+ years, but just wanted to share my experience.

I've ordered most of my stuff from them, they're usually cheaper than other stores and have good selection. Never had an issue, they ship my stuff in a timely fashion and it arrives intact, which is the least I can ask for.
Not impressed with every image in their range announcement being AI slop however.

I have bought tons of stuff from FOC because they have good deals on bulk ammo all the time and they ship fast. I’ve never had my card compromised, and I’ve never had an issue with any of my orders. Also getting reward points is awesome, I ended up saving $60 off my last purchase with my points from the last few orders.

I will never buy from them again. I had my card compromised during their Thanksgiving sale a few years back when everyone else had their cards compromised. They still held their Thanksgiving sale knowing full well that their credit card system was compromised. Their dealing with it afterwards was pretty piss poor too. Basically a too bad so sad situation and then full radio silence. I had to find out about it on GunNutz. The company sent out absolutely no correspondence to people who had been compromised. I can't in good conscience refer them and I will definitely never shop there again. Like, ever.

Nope they are perfectly fine to buy from. If you want to be extra safe when buying online use Sezzle az payment option instead of giving FOC your CC info.

They're my go to shop for ammo. I order from them several times a month and have never had an issue with any order from them. Their ammo prices are some of the best, and they ship everything out pretty fast. Ammo usually ships withing a day, 2 at most, guns ship out in 1-3 days usually. Some shops take 5-10 days just to get the package to the postal company (GoTenda is particularly bad for taking forever to ship).
By the way, "SAVE10" coupon can be applied to any order and is always running, might as well apply it and save $10.

I have bought in person in Ajax, long after the CC info was leaked. My first time there, so I asked about it, dude was very candid.
Personally, no issues. Lots of lower priced Czech ammo.

They're fine; people are just salty about their credit card hack a few years ago and their bad AI marketing for the new gun range.
Personally I could care less about a credit card hack as it happens all over the Internet, and there is zero liability with credit cards.
FOC has cheap ammo. If you buy in-store, it's okay; just check over your firearm before you leave. If you have issues, they'll ask you to send it in for warranty.

They aren’t a scam if that’s what you’re asking. It’s a real legitimate store. The reason some people hesitate is cuz previously they leaked customer cc numbers and that whole mess pissed a lot of people off
