Gun and gear reviews Vortex Spitfire 3x Gen 1 - Thoughts?

Many people here have this optic? There’s one near me locally used for $300, but even that seems steep. Cabelas has them for $500+hst, but I seem to remember them going on sale for like $299.

Should I buy it for $300, or save the money for something else (for plinking mostly inside 100 yards)

When I looked through one I found the reticle to be extremely small and almost too busy.

YMMV, I am not young with good eyes anymore.
