Misc I have a problem with Canadian Caliber
https://youtu.be/YhwBX_gDBWA?si=6zRR3ldTLChiHUfJI have noticed in their reviews they don't say anything negative about the guns they are "reviewing". All they have is saying positive things about the gun and appear to be shilling out.
What made me post this here is they are deleting all YouTube comments that have any criticisms associated with their flawed review style.
In a industry so small we need people that actually reviews products and not shill. We can't just have people talking complete positive and ignoring any problems.
I have a alcor 223 but I have had problems with it. It baffles me a review channel can go about ignoring everything and deleting comments just to prop up a product.
Deleting comments was a tipping point for me. Even if they weren't deleting comments and this was all a YouTube glitch, they still need to start reviewing effectively.

Canadian Caliber always has the cringiest/worst setups. Ex:
- Plate carriers with no plates
- Optics mounted on handguards
- Bipods mounted backwards
- Vertical grip AND angled grip on the same gun
The list goes on and on. Every time I watch them I wonder how they have made it this far with having almost zero firearm knowledge.

Unfortunately this is the gun industry in Canada. If they talk bad about the gun, they won’t get sent products from retailer/importer to “review” on their channel. Their videos are more of a showcase than reviews.
But deleting comments on constructive criticism and feedback on a product is another thing, that is shitty on their part and deserves to be called out on.

Everytime i watch one of their videos i just think "easy now boys, save some pussy for the rest of us".
Plate carries, garbage accessories, misinformation, cheap turkish guns that shouldn't even exist. Canadian mall ninja, they just need to slap some red anodized parts on that 410. Revolver shotgun.
The truth is, these guy have a target audience, its new shooters, with little knowledge, looking into firearms, often ones they can afford and with a tacticool vibe. I would not say its a grift, but the biased exaggerated reviews are intentional. One because they probably are involved some how with the import and sale of a lot of this crap, and two, because their target audience doesn't want to hear how shitty the gun they just bought is, they wanna hear the dude in the plate carrier praise everything in their limited price range.
In reality, we all want AR15s, and I don't care what any of you say, most of the shit these guys are reviewing probably wouldn't ever be imported if our market wasn't so restricted, and we certainly wouldn't be paying this price for it or discussing it on reddit. We are filling a void or trying to have a taste of a firearms experience we were to late to.
Canadian Caliber (not Caliber magazine) exist because of niche viewership and market. And honestly a lot of these guns are janky, don't run well, won't last, and/or will be impossible to repair or improve. There really isn't a need for a negative review if you assume the 600 dollar r92 lever action or the only weird turkish 223. Left on legal might have issues. And its pretty obvious that none of the guns they do review get more than a few dozen rounds through them, so they can really be honest at all.

Yeah, unfortunately our gun market isnt really saturated enough for gun youtubers to make it big. Its a shame because it sort of forces a lot of people to shill to some degree in order to gain benefits such as free guns and stuff like that

They saw an opportunity in a dying community to make content and they took it. No matter how cringey and clueless they are, they will keep putting out content and people will watch it because that’s all there is 🤷♂️ don’t take anything they say or do seriously, it’s all shills.

The production quality appears decent enough for some of the niche stuff we get up here if you just want an overview of the product, but wouldn’t use them for much more than that.

Yeahhhhhhh... I watched their review on that hideous compact .410 revolver. It was abundantly clear they aren't and won't be providing honest feedback. All of them clearly failed to maintain a solid grip under recoil with their support hand but didn't comment on that. Instead they commented on how mild the recoil was, stating that the grip was great/ergonomic. Secondly, they didn't even know the term "cylinder gap" while describing a revolver carbine. Nothing worse than someone speaking on a subject they don't know with a (clumsy) bias on top.

Ok thank you! I felt there was a huge disconnect in the quality of content I've come to expect from Calibre magazine and his informative commentary style videos I've seen in the past.
Those clowns should really come up with a different handle so they don't put a stink on the shine of the OG Calibre we know and love.

Negatively review a gun, and you will be blacklisted by that distributor....and there aren't that many distributors in Canada.
And the distributors usually don't let you keep the gun, as some below have alluded too.

I try hard not to be too negative on them especially considering the current plights of the Canadian firearms community, but dang, they're simply unwatchable. The levels of cringe... If you made it a drinking game and took a shot every time they vapidly praise their Turkish POS, with an extra shot when you hear the word "tasteful" or when you spot an Amazon-tier accessory, I promise you would be shitfaced drunk within the first minute. "No hiccups, shoots beautiful" after 5 rounds. Absolute cinema.
I do appreciate their enthusiasm, I really do, and I know it's easy to criticize. But maybe they should change the format and have fun shooting with no pretense rather than producing these utter slop "reviews."

I don’t mind the goofiness but they need to stop calling them reviews. They’re basically promoting the stuff which is fine but you need to be honest about it.

Canadian Caliber is all glazing meant to drive sales.
I commented on a video recently asking why they never seem to find anything meaningfully critical of what they "review" - it was the first comment, shortly after the video was uploaded.
They took the whole video down.

Lol they are paid actors. If you want honest reviews you need to listen to people who is not making a living from promoting stuff.
They also said 400 bucks Turkishit shotguns are amazing. I don’t think anyone from this sub agrees
