Fix my gun New mossberg persuader
Just got this new mossberg. Wondering if this gap is normal or bad machining at the barrel end or in reciever.

If the barrel is tight and the bolt closes it’s ok, mine have a space like that also

it’s fine. A lot of assembly line guns will possess minor imperfections like this. it will not affect performance in any way since this is one of the most sturdy platforms out there

Receiver end looks right. The critical thing is that the bolt's locking lug rises up into the square in the barrel.
One thing to check is that the magazine tube isn't screwed loose. If it is, just hand tighten it whenever the barrel is off.

Are we talking about Mexican Mossbergs or Turkish Mossbergs by any chance?

I'm talking about the 590A1 hunk of junk I purchased as my first firearm because everyone and their dog said it's the best shotgun ever made.

Its a mossberg 500 with a metal trigger guard and a really heavy barrel that wont get used for its intended purpose by 99.9% of civilian buyers.
As shotguns go its a pretty bad option for most buyers by most metrics.
Its not good for hunting, its not good for clays, its not good for the range. It dosent make sense in most situations, its just the most expensive mossberg so dumbasses will praise it as the best.

I hate to say it, but for most people, a Mossberg 500 is perfectly fine if they want a new pump gun.

Oh ok I thought you meant mossberg in general gets glazed to much.
I agree a regular 500 is good for most, if you don't mind the added weight though the heavy Walled Barrel and aluminum trigger group is nice.

Yeah I'm mostly talking about the 590A1 being too overrated lol, the regular 500/590 is already extremely reliable at a much more reasonable price. Plus when smaller bits eventually break you won't feel as bad.
P.S. Purely anecdotal but I kept seeing new 590A1s with out of spec magtube lip causing feeding issues.

I prefer the Benelli Supernova. Wouldn't mind trying a Fabarm in the future (the short tactical one).

I bought it because it's touted as an indestructible tank. It's the only firearm I've owned that had 3 different parts break in a short amount of time. It's also annoying to reassemble with its loose internals.
. The whole thing is sloppy and I understand that's to have "forgiving tolerances" to enhance reliability. I prefer the tighter Italians (ayo) and thankfully I'm free to choose.
. Of course this is just my experience and I probably got a lemon; I'm not saying all Mossbergs are junk. Clearly they're successful for a reason, I just didn't get to see it for myself.

I agree. I know 3 people around me who bought a 590A1 and have feeding issues because that stupid spring steel tab is out of whack. Funny how this is Reddit's favorite shotgun.

It's funny alright how someone will post asking for a cheap bird/trap gun and a horde of redditors will start cheeping "590A1!" like a swampful spring peepers. Euh.
