Buy recommendations Where is everyone getting these nice ammo boxes?

Went to the range for the first time yesterday and almost everybody had these cool round organizers with slots for each round. Where are y'all getting these? (looking to hold 223/556 myself)

There are a few options out there depending on what you’re looking for.

I run a small brand called East Ridge Outdoors — we make caliber-specific ammo boxes focused on organization and hunting/shooting.

If you want to check them out: East Ridge Outdoors

Very good looking ammo boxes. Any chance you guys are planning on 6.5 Swede or 7.5 Swiss in the future? I know they’re a bit niche but I’d be first in line if you guys had some.

Thanks, I appreciate it. We are willing to make boxes for any caliber. We design around a fired casing to ensure the boxes can hold brass, reloads and factory rounds. If you’re open to mailing me some casings (I can pay shipping), send me a PM and we can get working on that

I would also be interested in the 7.5swiss, 303 British and 7.62 Nato. I would happy to go shoot some and send to you as well

Awesome. Just made a 303 British. I’ll post it on the website this weekend. That would be great for the other 2 rounds. Send me a message when you’re ready and we’ll get those calibers designed

Do you also need 7.62x54R? I've also got that laying around

Yes, please send that one as well, if you don’t mind

Those are sweet. Do you ever do 20 gauge?

Thanks. It’s a lot of fun and there’s always more calibers to design. Haven’t made 20 gauge yet but we will. Working on some rifle boxes and 410 right now. 20 gauge should be soon after that.

How do you guys make these? 3d printed or injection mold?

We 3D print them using PETG. It holds up well in heat and cold and works great outdoors.

It also lets us design each box for the caliber, including less common ones, without being limited to a few standard options.

Canadian Tire sells these for different calibers. Check in the hunting aisle/areas.

3d printing storage boxes are fine. I know it's getting confusing because the cops are really trying to play games nowadays. I've seen a bunch of "hauls" from different police forces that have all the illegal guns on the table and then just a random 3D printer with no 3D printed items. Why would the 3D printer be displayed? It's like displaying the person's running shoes.

Amazon most likely that's where I got mine. https://a.co/d/06cfw1zg

Princess auto

Amazon sucks, but Mtm boxes go on sale super cheap there. The 357/38 ones are on for $2.80 in clear blue

Local gunshops, cabelas if you hate money and want to waste some, 3d printing, princess auto sometimes, FB marketplace sometimes

Gun shows are great for getting them cause someone usually has a pile for cheap

No one else just tosses boxes of ammo into a backpack, maybe a few handfuls of loose repack rounds?

Lots of other answers here but you could be the one with the coolest boxes of you Got a buddy with a 3D printer (or you buy one yourself xD)

Is it really needed to have slots for each round? What's the benefit?

I just run a couple large cartridge sized sheffield boxes that I got on Amazon. Since it's an open box I can use the same box for whatever caliber I like.

Would 3D printing these be considered illegal?

11

u/kammerlader Mar 28 '26

Are there any specific reasons that would make you think it would be?

4

u/gnu_gai Mar 28 '26

3D printing a storage container is not illegal, no. Pretty sure even printing a magazine would be fine so long as you adhere to capacity laws

Leave it to reddit to down vote you for asking an honest question about a government thats extremely hostile towards firearms owners and the industry as a whole.
