Saw it in the modmail. it shows [deleted] as in we didn't delete it. Did you offend the Reddit gods?

It was removed and then I deleted it afterwards. I’ll dig my gun out and post again

Bravo!!! Very nice. I myself am a lever action guy. They are addicting

Love it man. I went for a cz457 when I got my first gun. .22 is the way to go. I'm thinking about getting a nice lever myself. Kinda torn between a .22 and a .357. .22 I could plink all day cheap, .357 I still could with .38, but still not as cheap. I'll probably go .357. already have a few .22s

I'm waiting to get a look at the forthcoming 9mm bolt guns from Turkey. Already have a 357 lever: Beware, its almost impossible to make a lever that feeds both 38s and 357s perfectly. If you handload, though, you can always load 38spl to the same length as 357 for cheap low power fun

Weird. From what I've read, most, if not all 357s will cycle .38sp no problem. Where does it have issues?
2
u/prosper_0 Mar 28 '26
oh, they will cycle. but you'll find that they work much more quickly/smoothly with one or the other

We do actually have a 9mm bolt action in Canada already I was shocked to find.
It's called the Destroyer, a Italian surplus police rifle. I saw a few shops had them a couple months ago for quite cheap, $500 or something like that. They were initially I think chambered for 9x21? But rechambered to 9x19 at somepoint. I emailed the shop and asked them to specify which caliber as they were made in 2 different 9mm 9x19 Luger/Para and then 9x21 I think), and they told me the ones they had in stock were rechambered to 9x19.
They were neat looking little guns. I already have a Homesteader though so talked myself out of it

A .357 with a side gate would be really fun! It's something I'd love to get maybe a few guns in

+10 style points for not following the groupthink and getting a shitty sks
+2 point for getting a .22 thats more interesting than a 10/22
+10 points for a classy choice that's not all 'space cowboy'
+5 for getting a .22 first thing
You're off to a FANTASTIC start. (for some reason, I sold my octagon Golden Boy, back when they were still $400 guns. I wanted something Optic friendly, and it didn't seem right to put a scope on the Henry. I had intended to get a BL22, but never got around to it)

Agreed, I couldn't put a scope on this. I'm actually a fan of classic rifle iron sights myself, so this scratches that itch :)

If only there was a gun thats been mass produced by multiple countries; thats cheap, available in abundance, reliable, semi automatic, and chambered in 7.62x39. Boy would that be the dream.

HORRIBLE YOU ONLY BOUGHT 1 FREEDOM STICK WHEN YOU NEED TO GO BROKE BUYING 10 plus XD
But seriously, tho. That's a perfect starting gun, in my opinion. cheaper ammo looks clean, and i guarantee you felt good buying it. 10/10 hell to the yea dude
Actually 4/10 missing bare feet in the pic lol.

.22 is always the best choice for a first gun imo, great choice! It looks a bit lonely tho, maybe get a second gun to keep it company
