Misc What is the Best Gun Range in Edmonton?

I'm unsure of what gun range to go to in or around Edmonton they all seem to have similar prices/distance away from me. I'm open to indoor or outdoor, I'm just looking for a chill range that isn't too busy, being able to shoot steel core surplus would be a nice bonus.

Ive been a member at CHAS for a couple years now and it is an awesome range and if you go weekday mornings you can basically have the place to yourself

Also, you can use steel-core ammo as long as you follow the range rules. You can’t shoot steel targets with steel-core ammo at distances under 200 m. If you’re shooting paper, it’s fine at 50 m or 100 m.

Chas is awesome.  The space for shooting clays is great too, and I've even brought my own steel Gong before as not all the ranges have them.

Great place but a bit of a drive. Wish  they still did the deal with Phoneix Range that members shoot for free on Tuesdays. I was very sad when that ended

RDSC is worth a drive. I’ve heard good things about CHAS but never personally been.

I also know of public land about an hour outside of Edmonton that is good for shooting.

I’ve been going to SPFGA for a couple years. 10/10. No complaints.

CHAS and SPFGA are the best. Each of them has different strengths, so choose the one best suited to the shooting you want to do.

Can’t go wrong with either.

What are the differences?

CHAS has a longer LR bay.

Camrose shooting sports has dedicated action shooting bays ( pistol only)

SPFG has some kids programs.

There is a small range out by Onoway. Another out by Wabamum, another by Wildwood.

CHAS and SPFG are pretty busy compared to the rest.

Another vote for CHAS. Also, I'm a member of Phoenix, it is great if I don't want to go for an hour long drive but it is not cheap.

I just pay for single range passes at Phoenix if I don’t feel like driving out to my normal range in Athabasca.
