WITHDRAW from the ASFCP: if you’ve already declared your firearms, it’s not too late to withdraw. The program itself outlines how to do so.

For those that declared NR’s theyre dumb and shit out of luck.

But for those that declared R’s, honestly might as well withdraw since no one is getting paid, only Quebec.

Tough choice either way for people that don't intend to hold onto their guns past Oct 31. Damned if you do damned if you don't

I don’t think it’s a tough choice, hold on to your legally obtained property. This is a dumb unenforceable vanity project to appease a clearly unhinged woman. Why would you give it ups.

That's not the point. Hanging onto an item that's been declared a prohibited firearm past the end of the amnesty, could bring legal ruin. Because, the future is uncertain. Gun owners could get insanely lucky and have a future Conservative government reverse the ban. Or, we may be in for another decade of Liberal governance which seems very likely at this point. Ultimately, anyone hanging onto these guns past Oct 31 are exposing themselves to legal jeopardy. Will they kick your door in? Maybe not. But, will you be caught with it at some point in the future? Do you ever have to move house? Maybe someone will rat you out to the police. Not a game I'd want to be involved in.

The thread is about the ASFCP.

And since the future is indeed uncertain, there is no point even discussing what may or may not happen six months from now.

The best thing to do is nothing, because unforced decisions based on fear of an uncertain outcome are unlikely to have good outcomes.
