News / Politics / Activism Hats off to those with registered prohibs that aren't participating...

It's obvious by the recent numbers/media event where Provost had a meltdown that most people, even those with firearms that were already registered and are now prohibited, are not participating in this clown show.

With that, I just wanted to say that you guys/gals are the real deal.

You can always destroy it yourself if it comes down to it. The government isn't gonna pay you anyway. Don't be a statistic.

u/boozefiend3000 Mar 26 '26

That’s my mindset. I’d puke seeing my m&p15 in some photo op giving the liberal party a win

51

u/Geralt-of-Rivai Mar 26 '26

You know what doesn't make a good photo op is a stripped receiver. Keep all your parts and use it on something else, don't ever hand in a full rifle that looks good in photos, nothing but the bare minimum. Or destroy yourself, that works too

97

u/boozefiend3000 Mar 26 '26

Don’t turn in anything, it bumps up their numbers and brings more legitimacy to the program. You damn well know they’ll never have pics of a receiver but they’ll have it listed as an AR turned in. Still looks good on em

49

u/Imaginary-Text4690 Mar 26 '26

Literally came here to say exactly that lol don’t give them shit

51

u/goshathegreat Mar 26 '26

Nope, a receiver counts the same as a gun, why the fuck would you even consider enrolling in the buyback? I personally have restricted prohibs, I’m not participating in this bullshit confiscation program. They’re not going to use my guns as statistics to prove the success of this failed program, you should consider doing the same.

14

u/Geralt-of-Rivai Mar 26 '26

You're right of course, nothing is better. But there are those that are going to turn them in and just saying to please not hand in a full rifle of any kind

3

u/Barbarian_818 Mar 26 '26

Yeah, one of the fucked up aspects of this scheme is that a stripped receiver counts as a gun when it comes to pressing charges or allowing authorities to brag about how they're doing. But it only counts as a non-functional part when it comes to assessing value.

Schrodinger's rifle: an evil nasty thing that somehow encourages possessors into going postal and at the same time, a lump of metal that is so non-functional that owners should feel grateful they get anything at all from it.

10

u/DougMacRay617 Mar 26 '26

Nah dont even give it to them. Destroy it yourself.

0

u/jeancreme Mar 28 '26

When you say destroy it yourself, do you mean actually destroy it yourself? I’m pretty sure the only “acceptable” way of deactivation is to have a registered gunsmith do it.

2

u/DougMacRay617 Mar 28 '26

I mean Destroy the firearm in a legal way that does not involve you turning it into a governmental agency and or local law enforcement

4

u/kestik Mar 26 '26

Or destroy yourself, that works too

Don't do it, you have so much to live for

3

u/Visual-Confection400 Mar 26 '26

Or worse the inevitable bulldozer photo op

33

u/Azules023 Mar 26 '26

That was my line of thinking. Shit situation all around and likely not going to get paid anyways. So I’m not willingly participating to be part of the liberal party’s propaganda machine and will see what happens in October.

44

u/Imaginary-Text4690 Mar 26 '26

That’s what half there dumbasses posting about this shit don’t realize. Asking about registration and compensation, wa wa I’m a lawyer wa wa I’ll lose my job. Stand up for yourself fuck these Prohibitionist clowns

11

u/Bohdyboy Mar 26 '26

I have a co worker who said " I've got two young kids, and 3500 dollars worth of guns, i can't afford to just destroy them"

When i asked him " what do you mean you can't afford to destroy them, if they weren't banned, would have you sold them, to feed your kids"

Angry silence.

I know everyone makes their own decisions, and I'm not judging those who do turn in. But don't make up bullshit excuses.
The honest answer is " i bought these things, i don't actually really care about firearms or the community that much and Id like to try an claw back what little I can, and I'll find a new hobby". That is a perfectly reasonable stance. If they suddenly banned golf clubs, that would be my position. I don't care enough about golf to turn this into a battle. Give me my money.

2

u/Imaginary-Text4690 Mar 27 '26

Real good point u got there

5

u/AdministrationOk1083 Mar 26 '26

I'd rather no be on the hit list for 11 registered handguns. I'll likely saw my ar15 in half with a portaband

15

u/improbablydrunknlw Anyone got Mike from Canmores number? Mar 26 '26

Me too, not registering shit, not turning in shit. I'll cut the lower in half on the last day I can. But I want to keep my handguns.

15

u/paranoidinfidel Mar 26 '26

destroying it yourself is as bad as turning it in. they win with their lies & bullshit. you've done what they wanted and yet the country isn't safer.

7

u/improbablydrunknlw Anyone got Mike from Canmores number? Mar 26 '26

"destroying"

2

u/FuzzyLampShade Mar 26 '26

Sure, but by the end of the amnesty we unfortunately don’t have much of a choice. I’ll hold out till the very end hoping that it gets extended due the SCC trial, however if that doesn’t happen I’ll cut my gun into pieces. It is my last resort.

1

u/yokoshima_hitotsu Mar 26 '26

Any idea how that works, would you need get it certified after it's destroyed or something to get of the rcmps hit list?

7

u/LLSWSIF Mar 26 '26

It is hilarious most people dont realize or suggest this more often.

Other than cutting the receiver and other parts to bits with a saw, what are some other ideas for destruction a crayon eater like me could sort out?

11

u/SpectreBallistics Spectre Ballistics International (Verified) Mar 26 '26

You only need to destroy the serialized component, and in the case of an AR-15, the upper. The rest of the parts do not need to be destroyed.

4

u/Styrak Mar 26 '26

You mean the lower, right...

7

u/pm_me_your_brass Mar 26 '26

Both the lower (serialized component) and the upper (which was also made prohibited).

10

u/SpectreBallistics Spectre Ballistics International (Verified) Mar 26 '26 edited Mar 26 '26

No, you need to also destroy AR-15 uppers since they're prohibited devices. In addition to the lower (serialized part)

1

u/CanuckBard Mar 26 '26

Is it the same for non-restricted ar-180 variants that are now prohib? Or does that only apply to the AR15 specific?

4

u/SpectreBallistics Spectre Ballistics International (Verified) Mar 26 '26

AR-15 uppers are specifically prohibited devices.

1

u/LLSWSIF Mar 26 '26

Think its possible to legally meet the "deactivate" requirements using JB weld or some other product and method that could be done at home?

Of course you wouldnt be responsible for the results of any attempts.

Just curious.

5

u/613mitch Mar 26 '26

Think its possible to legally meet the "deactivate" requirements using JB weld or some other product and method that could be done at home?

No, there is no way for anyone who is not a registerd gunsmith with the RCMP to deactivate a firearm at home. Deactivation is a legal process that involves certifying that the firearm is in fact deactivated.

You can, however, destroy your firearm at home and simply report it as destroyed.

1

u/LLSWSIF Mar 26 '26

Shieeeeet.

Thanks for the info man!

1

u/SpectreBallistics Spectre Ballistics International (Verified) Mar 26 '26

Couldn't tell you. Don't have any experience doing deactivations. I would guess any kind of epoxy isn't sufficient.

3

u/Murray3-Dvideos Mar 26 '26

I suspect most of us know.... we just choose to not really talk about it. Stating on the internet that your planning to chop stuff is also essentially saying you have stuff to chop lol

6

u/Drunkenleprochaun Mar 26 '26

they offered me $2 each gun.

3

u/Equivalent-Win4541 Mar 30 '26

is it actually real? for Smith & wesson FPC estimated amt was $795, you think they'd say $2? If its decent money, id rather give this and get a nice shotgun that I can enjoy

5

u/SkSMaN7 Mar 26 '26

Is it time to break out the cosmoline and a shovel?

8

u/Plasma_48 Mar 26 '26

What cosmoline? What shovel? What hole? Realistically, no, the amnesty is going to be extended past its expiry due to the SCC case.

1

u/IcySkyDream Mar 28 '26

I'm honestly surprised most people don't seem to realize this. The feds can't really do anything while the SCC decision is pending.

1

u/Status_Ticket5044 Mar 26 '26

And a trip to Plumbing Mart.

3

u/kennethdavid Mar 26 '26

This is the answer. In fact, if you registered for the buyback and withdraw or don't show up for your appointment - the statistics will be even better for us.

Ok RCMP.

6

u/Perfect_Diamond_1128 Mar 26 '26

why do people fed jacket whenever somebody says something based? fed jacketers are worse than liberals

5

u/YourLoveLife Mar 26 '26

Why the fuck would the RCMP be telling you not to turn over your guns and to hide them instead regard.

-2

u/pukalo_ Mar 26 '26

It is well known that law enforcement agencies like to entrap people into to doing illegal activities in order to fulfill their arrest quotas and secure more funding.

6

u/bloody_nickelz Mar 26 '26

Nice try fedboi…..definitely not doing that….

5

u/dgod40 Mar 26 '26

Like seriously, these people are insane. It's a post on restricted to prohibited and these goofs talking like no one knows what you have.

3

u/YourLoveLife Mar 26 '26

NR's which are prohib now have no database. You could hide it and no one would know you ever had it.

2

u/dgod40 Mar 26 '26

This entire post is about restricted to prohibited. You are correct in your statement but it doesn't apply in this context.

1

u/Boattailfmj Mar 26 '26

Probably liberal gun owners 🤣

1

u/dgod40 Mar 26 '26

You think a liberal gun owner would talk about stashing their guns in an underground cache in the woods? That's a weird thought process.

1

u/Boattailfmj Mar 26 '26

They are kinda weird, I wouldn't put it past them.

0

u/bloody_nickelz Mar 26 '26

Definitely not doing that at all

I know deactivations cost money, but I think I would do that since at least I can have it on a wall

17

u/IntelligentGrade7316 Mar 26 '26

Actually according to the regulations you can destroy it yourself, and then just report the destruction. No cost required. No need to have it deactivated.

NAL.

9

u/Livid-Basket-9193 Mar 26 '26

True story you don't even need to show proof. They don't like it ..but they can't do shit.

4

u/thisghy Mar 26 '26

Curious, what if they want to see proof? Can they tell you that they will be inspecting it or is this just a situation where if they find out you never destroyed it youre fucked?

9

u/M3NUTN Mar 26 '26

It is illegal to claim/inform the gov that said firearm is destroyed when it is not, so yes if police did do a warranted search and found it functional you'd likely get charged. NAL

4

u/dgod40 Mar 26 '26

You are 100% correct. If they find a functioning firearm that is prohibited you will get charged. Probably multiple charges.

3

u/thisghy Mar 26 '26

I guess they would need a warrant to search. I suppose what im really asking is whether they can demand proof.

5

u/Plasma_48 Mar 26 '26

I don’t know if you are legally obligated to provide proof, but it wouldn’t matter anyway. If they thought you still had it and wanted to make an example out of you, they’d find some other reason to let themselves in.

3

u/Candid-Tomato2971 Mar 26 '26

If your proof is a ground up bag of aluminum shavings that weighs close to your receiver weight, that would make sense!

4

u/canadianmohawk1 Mar 26 '26

That's pretty easy.

You tell them there isn't any because you destroyed it. It's gone.

Let them search all they want. The they won't find anything because it was destroyed. They can call you a liar, but there will be no proof you lied. In fact, the lack of being able to show the rifle, means it's no longer available, because it was destroyed.

6

u/CalibreMag Mar 26 '26

It seems extremely unlikely that our overworked police are going to pursue a warrant because someone called the CFO to tell them they had complied with the law.

1

u/Livid-Basket-9193 Mar 27 '26

I want to see titties but it's not always possible. Regardless of how much I ask.

8

u/Geralt-of-Rivai Mar 26 '26

Yeah I have a few that if it came down to it I'd rather at least have a wall hanger then just something tossed in the trash or worse handed in

11

u/dgod40 Mar 26 '26

I'm sorry to hear, friend. Whatever you had was probably pretty fucking cool and fun to shoot. This is why the saying "registration leads to confiscation" rings so true.

4

u/Last_Temperature_599 Mar 26 '26

The proof is in the pudding 🍮

12

u/boozefiend3000 Mar 26 '26 edited Mar 26 '26

Problem with deactivation is you’d probably have to take it to a shop to be in compliance. Would have to be in advance of the end date. I’d rather just destroy it the last day, hold out as long as possible. Odds are high the government will blink and extend the amnesty with so little compliance. Could have your gun deactivated and then the amnesty extended and you’ve fucked yourself

6

u/Primary_Judge Mar 26 '26

They're not going to extend the amnesty if you guys are all talking about destroying your guns/parts.

2

u/TarkovSundays Mar 26 '26

For real😂 they are laughing looking at the comments… no work at all for them we are doing it ourselves because we are so freakin scared.. shiver me timbers

1

u/boozefiend3000 Mar 26 '26

I’m not gonna destroy mine, I was just making a suggestion to the person saying they’ll deactivate theirs. Either way, with 37% compliance for just the amount of rifles they planned to buyback it’s still a risk not to extend the amnesty for them. Still gonna be hundreds of thousands of people out there that the government has no clue what they’ve done

5

u/dgod40 Mar 26 '26

100% you have to take it to an approved deactivation shop. I actually wonder what the actual law is regarding the timeline for deactivation. Like let's say you take it to a shop on Oct 20th but they are so swamped, is it still ok after Amnesty.

Oh, and I guarantee they are not going to blink. I've said this before and I'll say it again, they want non compliance. They don't have to "pay out" the pennies and like Natalie said "non complying gun owners are part of the lobby groups" thus bad. They'll get their 51000 guns, say everyone else is bad, cancel RPALs of non complaint people, and ban more because we didn't play ball.

8

u/boozefiend3000 Mar 26 '26

They’re gonna have to extend because of the Supreme Court and depending how they rule there could be another amnesty. If the court tells the government they need to pay full value for everything they’ll definitely have to think on that. Do they waste billions at that point or just give up? Best we’d get is grandfathering, but they’d still be in our possession

1

u/613mitch Mar 26 '26

100% you have to take it to an approved deactivation shop. I actually wonder what the actual law is regarding the timeline for deactivation. Like let's say you take it to a shop on Oct 20th but they are so swamped, is it still ok after Amnesty.

You'd be in compliance. You don't have posession of the firearm, the shop does. Whether they're licensed for a prohib or not is another question.

3

u/NapsRNeeded Mar 26 '26

Just ordered a new shiny sawsall blade.

1

u/Hopeful_Relation_441 Mar 27 '26

i would give them a stripped down receiver, no chance i would allow them something that looks good in a press confrence

1

u/SpectreBallistics Spectre Ballistics International (Verified) Mar 27 '26

Or better yet, destroy the receiver yourself, report it destroyed, and give them nothing at all.

2

u/Hopeful_Relation_441 Mar 27 '26

don't you have to provide evidence of destruction? "improper destruction can lead to criminal charges"

1

u/SpectreBallistics Spectre Ballistics International (Verified) Mar 27 '26

They will request it. If you have to provide it, you need to talk to a lawyer.

1

u/stickupmybutter Mar 27 '26

You just need to destroy only the receiver anyway right?

Then in the future just make a replica of the receiver (3d print, sculpt, airsoft, etc.) and the rest of the parts can be assembled together to become a display piece.

1

u/SpectreBallistics Spectre Ballistics International (Verified) Mar 27 '26

A replica is illegal.

1

u/stickupmybutter Mar 27 '26

No, I mean replica as in... How do you say it... Like made out of plastic or out of wood, but super detailed... Knock off? Fake?

1

u/SpectreBallistics Spectre Ballistics International (Verified) Mar 27 '26

1

u/stickupmybutter Mar 27 '26

Oh huh it is. Shouldn't paint it then.

And I didn't know airsoft guns are prohibited as well...

1

u/SpectreBallistics Spectre Ballistics International (Verified) Mar 27 '26

Airsoft guns which fire over 366 fps and below 500 fps are not prohibited.

-14

u/Last_Temperature_599 Mar 26 '26

You cant its illegal to destroy a prohib

23

u/SpectreBallistics Spectre Ballistics International (Verified) Mar 26 '26

No, it's not. You just need to report it destroyed.

https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/c-46/page-17.html

7

u/Boattailfmj Mar 26 '26

Dear RCMP: I regret to inform you that my firearm was destroyed today. I was storing my sawzall in my gun cabinet because I want to keep society safe. At 2:30pm a large tractor trailer unit went by my house. The vibrations from the tractor trailer unit subsequently lead to a box of shotgun shells falling off a shelf and activating the trigger on the sawzall. I did not have a trigger lock on the sawzall as it was non restricted. The blade contacted the receiver and cut through it. Also my dog ate my pal.

3

u/Plasma_48 Mar 26 '26

Wow, that’s a very interesting set of circumstances. Like most people, I have a special section on the bottom of my boat that I duct tape them to. Unfortunately, an unusual freak accident caused my boat to accelerate which subsequently caused the tape to fail and resulted in the loss of another one of my firearms. Let this be a lesson to you, Scotch brand duct tape is not the correct tape to secure your firearms to the bottom of your boat with, I plan on trying blue painters tape next.

5

u/tindrummer99 Mar 26 '26

My oxy acetylene torch will take care of compliance. They can pay the shipping if they want the blob…..

2

u/Last_Temperature_599 Mar 26 '26

Good to know if stand corrected

1

u/BigRedGunNut Mar 26 '26

Thanks for the link. I knew that but didn't know where to find it.

46

u/BrendanGuer Mar 26 '26

Yeah, my AR-15 isn’t being offered up for anyone, for any imaginary pretend buyout.

I’d sooner see it deactivated and hung on a wall for display than turned in.

1

u/HappyCan7250 Mar 26 '26

Honestly, it'd make a sweet wall hanger. Tragic, but might as well use it as a display piece since no one's getting paid anyway. I'd rather have wall hangers than give anything to our corrupt, incompetent government

71

u/philander201 Mar 26 '26

I'll report them destroyed and I'll take video of me cutting up my ARs on the final day. I never would have seen the $2,500.00 anyway, so fuck'em.

11

u/TescoValueSoup Mar 26 '26

They require no evidence of destruction, so why even offer it to them.

3

u/Late_Winner6859 Mar 26 '26

Maybe there would be a way to sue later for compensation? who knows.

The government is intentionally destroying our property. If it was a person doing that, that’s an indictable offense in criminal court (when over $5k, for up to 5 years). But if it’s a secretary of Nature with her pet chipmunk messing with millions of citizens and causing billions in damage- that’s fine, I guess

2

u/Cope180-Enjoyer Mar 26 '26

AI photos it is.

2

u/TescoValueSoup Mar 27 '26

Apart from providing false information - they don't require any evidence. Not a photo, not metal filings. Nothing. Zip.

Phone the CFO, say "I have destroyed a firearm, this was the serial. Thank you, good day"

1

u/Cope180-Enjoyer Mar 27 '26

Not going to downvote you but I have yet to see evidence of this.

Meaning the liberals are probably going to change it randomly since they love moving goalposts and changing the rules for no reason.

1

u/TescoValueSoup Mar 27 '26

It's right there in the criminal code

  • [106]() (1) Every person commits an offence who does not with reasonable despatch report the destruction to a peace officer, firearms officer or chief firearms officer.
    • (a) after destroying any prohibited firearm, restricted firearm, prohibited weapon, restricted weapon, prohibited device or prohibited ammunition, or
    • (b) on becoming aware of the destruction of any prohibited firearm, restricted firearm, prohibited weapon, restricted weapon, prohibited device or prohibited ammunition that was in the person’s possession before its destruction,

2

u/Bone_Donor Mar 27 '26

Can you expand a bit on this? Been following closely but wasn't aware that destruction was an option (other than turning them in for destruction)

1

u/TescoValueSoup Mar 27 '26

You can destroy a firearm at any time you please, outside of the ASFCP, even in spite of it.

Maybe you just hate your Turkshit shotgun so much you decide to take a saw to it and cut it in to four through the action.
Maybe you don't want to tell the government what you have that was NR, is now P, but also don't want to risk criminality after October 30th.

Destruction at home is an option and always has been.
They don't want to highlight it as an option because they want to know what you've got.
They want a nice photo of all the guns piled up and being fed into a crusher or a line of chop saws.

All you need to do is report it to the CFO - IF - the firearm is Restricted or Prohibited.
There is no obligation to report the destruction of a Non Restricted firearm.

Criminal code

  • 106 (1) Every person commits an offence who does not with reasonable despatch report the destruction to a peace officer, firearms officer or chief firearms officer.

1

u/Xaxxus Mar 26 '26

Ironically, if I searched one using the unregistered tab it said $2750 which was more than what I paid for mine.

Too bad mine was registered.

1

u/Equivalent-Win4541 Mar 30 '26

wait, can you explain that again. So if you haven't yet declared the firearm, and check compensation, its shows high amount and when you say have declared it, the amount drops to NIL?

1

u/Xaxxus Mar 30 '26

So when I looked on the website, there are two tabs:

  • registered firearms
  • non registered

Registered was anything restricted that got prohibited

Non registered was guns they don’t know you have (non restricted to prohibited)

When I selected the registered tab, I saw my ps90 on there. And it said estimated return value of 0

But when I went to the non registered tab, you can search for guns there. I searched ps90 and saw a value of 2750.

Maybe it’s a website bug?

Not gonna lie, I felt some pride seeing her sweat knowing I didn’t sign up any of my (previously) restricted rifles. im not turning in a firearm to the government, every time a government disarms it's citizens something terrible happens shortly after, Also fuck that psycho bitch and her deranged identity crisis she's pushing on the country.

11

u/violent-trashpanda Mar 26 '26

Indeed!  look what happened when the Germans disarmed the Jewish and other groups like communists etc from 1933 to 1938  then swooped in and systematically murdered them.

14

u/tindrummer99 Mar 26 '26

Remember those videos of grandmas in the Ukraine with AKs……you know, when a surly neighbor was threatening to invade?

10

u/-rifle-is-fine- Mar 26 '26

I was up all night on Reddit when Russia invaded.

The government handed out surplus guns and ammo crates to citizens and straight out told people to build molotovs and chuck them at a Russian. The babusyas setting up molotov assembly lines was fuckin' badass.

All the guns banned here in the hands of civilians everywhere there, and it feels safer to stumble home drunk through the downtown of a city there than any in Canada.

9

u/Plasma_48 Mar 26 '26

Don’t you worry, if I understand the government correctly, all militaries shall cower in fear of my pink gsg 15.

1

u/-rifle-is-fine- Mar 26 '26

I hope someone in Ottawa asks them: "So how many rifles did Ukraine deem suitable as a military assault weapon and take? Which models?"

1

u/Radec_ Secret Soviet Mar 26 '26

None of them lol that was already brought up and the libtards brushed it off like it was irrelevant

25

u/Jeepking0831 Mar 26 '26

I would never and will never give them anything fuck the corrupt liberal. I will deal with the consequences when day comes. Make me a criminal I don’t care.

I will stand up for what I believe in and what’s right.

10

u/thisghy Mar 26 '26

I'm not that desperate for a toonie and maybe some change.

10

u/wireditfellow bc Mar 26 '26

I would rather send it to my friend in US then have it destroyed or bought by government.

This is my rifle(gun). There are many like it but this one is mine.

Tread on this bitch!!

19

u/samsquanch357 Mar 26 '26

Cosmoline, pelican cases and shovels boys…

16

u/gnu_gai Mar 26 '26

Pelican seems a rather expensive route compared to a 6" PVC pipe

3

u/samsquanch357 Mar 26 '26

Won’t disagree with you there

17

u/TVpresspass tv-presspass.com - Makes videos and words Mar 26 '26

My Colt Canada Sa20 lower receiver belongs in a museum! And that's exactly where it'll go if push comes to shove...

9

u/gnu_gai Mar 26 '26

If that's actually the plan probably want to have that arranged well in advance

15

u/KalashnikovParty Mar 26 '26

i mean if it’s choosing between not getting to use your gun but having it and not having it and also not being paid anything why would anyone comply. At least you know one day it may be unprohibited

2

u/Plasma_48 Mar 26 '26

Because they either have false hope that they are getting paid, or were successfully threatened into participating by the emails making it seem like you would be a criminal if you didn’t participate.

9

u/robot_nixon Mar 26 '26

What a terrible and confusing time for Canadians.

6

u/Upspoon Mar 26 '26

Fight the good fight.

13

u/PrestigiousStatus711 Mar 26 '26

I will be keeping my firearms.

6

u/itsmeAG32 Mar 26 '26

I have a CZ and a B&T and you bet I’m holding the MF line !

6

u/Flat-Dark-Earth Big Bore Specialist Mar 26 '26

There was something like 120,000 registered AR15s, AR10s etc right? So total program has only received about a third of the ARs.

There are easily 10x that in NR prohibs.

2

u/613mitch Mar 26 '26

We don't actually know what they are. For all you know there's 50,000 gsg16's and a handful of AR's in those declarations.

1

u/Murray3-Dvideos Mar 26 '26 edited Mar 26 '26

92,000 if i recall correctly. Thats just the AR-15s and they budgeted for what ? 136,000 guns TOTAL ? Easily the most arrogant thing I've seen the Gov. do in my lifetime. I run these numbers by Liberal relatives and it shuts up the Carney praise so fast. Kindov love that aspect of it.....

6

u/Feeling-Water-6824 Mar 26 '26

I have a restricted prohib. They know i have it. Oct is a long way off and I truly believe they will extend the amnesty. Thry are not telling us this because if they did, people wouldn't participate. Imagine the chaos come Nov 1st with probably a million lawful Canadians now criminals. They are going to do a roundup. They'll extend it.

6

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '26

there is NO WAY im giving up my 45ACP kriss Vector. aint no way. its honestly a grail gun and way to cool!

4

u/rastamasta45 Mar 26 '26

I mean apparently retired and off duty RCMP officers are going to be deployed to confiscate all the guns. Even without the SCC there was going to be an extension. How many “off duty and retired” officers could there honestly be and with a national deployment. The stupidity of this is truly remarkable.

5

u/Canuk723 Mar 26 '26

As if anyone that knows their right was gonna open the door to an off duty or even worst retired cop. Kick rocks

2

u/Bone_Donor Mar 27 '26

Not only that but we're gonna hand prohibited devices to retired rcmp members? They are regular citizens with no authority. By the letter of the law it would be illegal for them to receive, possess and transport them lol

5

u/saneboy Mar 26 '26

That’s me. There was never enough money to make participation make sense. My local police are going to be enforcing the ban so I have some decisions to make before October 30

2

u/outline8668 Mar 26 '26

If people start getting their doors kicked in after Oct 30 I'm sure we'll hear about it in time to make a decision.

7

u/PopperChopper Mar 26 '26

Why was I supposed to do something?

I'm doing my part!

3

u/damansb Mar 27 '26

It's sad reading people say with pride that they would destroy their guns when the time comes rather than sending it to them. To me, destroying your gun is the same as sending it to them. You lose. There's no pride in it. If you are going to stand for it then stand for it at all cost. Otherwise you are just bending over for them. I wish Canadians had the guts to stand against tyranny like usa did when their country came to be.

26

u/AdditionalLoss7274 Mar 26 '26

I didn't play their game with covid, and I'm not playing it now. I declare they can suck on deez nuts.

5

u/WeightedDips95 Mar 26 '26

Incredibly based.

4

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '26

The way I see it is . Fuck them fuck them all , they know I have it why should I register anything that’s already registered? They’re not getting anything I’ll take the charges please the libs are soft on gun crime anyways .

2

u/boozefiend3000 Mar 26 '26

If you’ve made a declaration and want to back out you can. Tracey Wilson posted this screenshot:

You can withdraw your consent from the program until firearms are collected. After collection, the application cannot be withdrawn and will be processed fully. To withdraw consent, contact the program's Contact Centre 1-833-759-4551. Upon receipt of your request, the application and consent to use the provided information will be considered withdrawn.

2

u/AutomaticCredit3191 Mar 28 '26

As much as I don't want to, it's hard to turn down the money. I have a bunch firearms that are on the list. The offer amount for them is pretty close to retail, so instead of having to normally deal with people if i were selling for example, i can get a decent price with no haggling. as much as i want to keep them, financially, it doesnt make sense (to me) to keep and deactivate the firearms for a small price, vs getting close to retail for turning them in. in either case, i cant enjoy them. no interest in deactivating and then hanging on the wall.

2

u/MustardTiger88 Mar 29 '26

Do you expect you'll be paid? I've heard rumblings that the program is already out of money.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '26

So, hats off to nobody, since the RCMP terminated the registrations on May 8 2020* and the AGC vigorously defended that termination in court cases across the country, and were successful?

* There are a few they forgot and terminated in January/February 2021 but the AGC still successfully argued that it was effectively terminated on the ban date.

1

u/Afrocowboyi Mar 26 '26

I only shot my VZ.61 twice 😫. Too cool and iconic to give up.

1

u/rel4pse_ Mar 26 '26

If nobody turned in anything, this would all be over by default.

1

u/NobleAcorn Mar 27 '26

You could destroy it yourself and declare destroyed the day the amnesty ends while also waiting it out and being defiant simultaneously.

I don’t have any on the list but that’s what I’d do. If it came down to destroying or handing back of course destroyed and permanent wall art for my house

1

u/mindlesstake Mar 27 '26

I'm not participating in this bs, but I still don't understand our plan after Oct 30.

What do we do on Oct 29? Call police to take it? Get ready to have a criminal record? CCFR could be more clear about it.

1

u/rastamasta45 Mar 27 '26

Unfortunately they can’t be because anything that is slightly off will result in them “promoting a crime”

The reality is it’s your choice to make and yours alone, CCFR was clear about this. You either call the police and hand it in. Have it deactivated, take your chances and do nothing or destroy it yourself and report it.

Only you can make the choice.

1

u/mindlesstake Mar 27 '26

That's how government wins and we lose.

1

u/Joels-workshop Mar 31 '26

My 1943 M1 Carbine was banned. It’s registered and there is no way I’d participate in the confiscation.

If I don’t get to set the price it’s not a purchase it’s confiscation. It’s also not for sale.

I’ll destroy it myself or deactivate it if it comes to that but I’m not participating in this charade.

-4

u/Primary_Judge Mar 26 '26

Such great Canadians in here talking about saving the Gov't money by destroying your firearms yourselves. How about quit mentioning your intentions and giving them a win?

1

u/canadianmohawk1 Mar 26 '26

Libs don't actually care about the guns being destroyed or collecting them because they know it has no impact on crime. The only thing they care about is optics, and destroying them ourselves, doesn't give them that.

And sure.. I'm glad you recognize that Conservatives do care about Canada and how it recklessly spends itself into ruin. You could say, that this is a sign that Conservatives are clearly better than Liberals because we will take on this expense personally, if we have to because it becomes law, in order to save others from having to pay for it. The same can not be said about Liberals.

TLDR; What you said is not the win you think it is.

2

u/cutslikeakris Mar 26 '26

If conservatives cared they would be speaking out about this. They aren’t. They do not support you the way you think.

1

u/canadianmohawk1 Mar 27 '26

Nathalie Provost, of the LPC, standing with Gary in the latest presser about this gun grab, mentioned, while practically begging gun owners to comply, how much Pierre's support, which she called misinformation, annoyed her. So I think she disagrees with you that they have said nothing. There are plenty of videos of conservative MPs grilling the government over this. Look at Dayne Lloyd grilling Gary Andandasangaree about the lack of evidence supporting their claim that this program helps reduce gun crime.

Just because you didnt see it, doesn't mean it didn't happen. You have to look for it.

Google says;

"Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre has pledged to reverse the federal Liberal "gun grab" (buyback program), labeling it a wasteful, multi-billion dollar policy that targets licensed hunters and sport shooters rather than criminals. He vows to focus on border security to stop illegal smuggling and to increase penalties for criminals.  "

0

u/sprunkymdunk Mar 27 '26

Conservatives care so much about Canada that they made Trudeau look patriotic af when Trump was shitting on us. That sealed it for me.

And as the Alberta wing has shown, even treason is not a step to far.

I voted for Harper a couple of times, but the switch to MAGA-light politics is both gross and stupid politics.

1

u/canadianmohawk1 Mar 27 '26

Trudeau, Trump. Both idiots running their countries and somehow you blame the opposition for something they have no control over and for pointing out the bullshit that has been going on for 10 years.

And then you mention MAGA. Lol. You know this is Canada right?

-1

u/bigsxvhuj533 Mar 27 '26

If you have a registered firearm you will lose your pal. 100%. Do what you want but the last thing I’d do is listen to the people that say they won’t be handing in their firearms. They will be. They’re hoping you’ll be the test subject.
