Probably not perfect flair but recent news tweaked my curiosity.

How long does a typical law-abiding owner take to make their weapon ready for use?

Or in other words, your weapon and ammunition are properly stored. You hear a noise or see something that makes you suspicious. How long does it take you to get to your gun safe, open it, and then assemble and load the firearm?

How much does that vary between your pistol, rifle, and shotgun?

Nah. Soldier turned corporate lawyer. Nothing exciting about that.

I do know one or two, though.

If you actually were a soldier at one point, you would be so confident in your own answer to your question that you wouldn’t be asking others.

Different weapons, plus the passage of three decades (impacting my recollection of what it would have been like then, and possibly my abilities now). And never having to open a safe, just a basic padlock.

My gut, though, makes me question the utility of a locked-up gun on another floor of my house. On the other hand, maybe it’s harder to break in to someone’s house than it seems, especially if trying to do so quietly.

You are so full of it. You’re telling me you simply forgot how to use guns after being a soldier? Why are you asking this questionnaire? Just go look it up on YouTube or ask AI.
